“I didn’t want a system on my house/garage roof, even though I had plenty of roof space. It makes snow removal much harder to get maximum value out of the system I’d stumbled on to the pedestal tracking system and that led me to Mass Renewables. They were very helpful and were able to accommodate my requirements to have a system installed. They helped me out by pointing me in the right direction to get a low interest loan through a state program, and I had a really smooth time with the loan working with North Brookfield savings bank. They system I chose is 24 panels on a pedestal with the duel action tracker. I’m finding it out produces my neighbors 23 panel stationary system by about 75%. It’s not totally an equal comparison since they have some trees in the way, and I have a clear view of the sky all day long. “We spent 9 months reviewing a full range of solar options. First, we decided to go with a purchased system due to the incentives available and a full return on investment in under 5 years. Second, we selected Mass Renewables based on their reputation, willingness to educate us on solar, and answer our questions throughout the process. They were not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. While we had a minor issue during installation, Mike and team addressed it immediately. Their level of service and quality is unmatched. The installed system looks spectacular – all conduits are hidden and overall the panels compliment our house rather than create an eyesore. Our system has been up and running for 6 months without a single issue. Mike and team remain accessible to answer any questions. Due to the mild winter, we’ve been over-producing when compared to original estimates – so we are very pleased! “Extremely Disappointed – Costly Mistakes and No Accountability.My experience with Mass Renewables has been frustrating and expensive. Due to their negligence and poor communication, I lost out on roughly $1,600 in SMART battery incentive payments — and now have to take them to small claims court to recover the money.They originally told me the installation would take 3–4 months. It took 8. I didn’t get my first bonus payment until November 2024, which is more than two years after the system was set up in June 2022.Mass Renewables said they had never worked on a job like mine, which involved adding a battery backup to a solar system from a company that is no longer in business. Still, they told me I would be eligible for the SMART battery ADDER even though I didn’t know how the process worked. They didn’t even contact the program managers until October 2024. Less than two months after they finally did what they should have, I started getting paid.The owner made excuses for their mistake instead of taking responsibility for it and avoiding a fair answer. Not long ago, I only asked for the payments I missed, with no interest or fees. I will now go after the full amount the court allows.The bottom line is bad planning, not being open, and not being responsible.
