“Excellent job on the system. It works flawlessly. 45 to 50 kWh every day. Perfect. Technically the whole job was very professional. The employees could use a class in communications with customers. There is a definite attitude of don`t bother me, particularly after the system was installed. I also spent years in technical service for electronics companies and know how to treat customers. Their brochure says “Once your system has been inspected and approved, your Rising Sun consultant walks you through system operation and system monitoring.” This was not done properly. I learned bits of information by asking the electrician questions but when the system was completed there was no “walk through”. I asked for the manuals many times for the Sunpower system and was told we will get them to you. No manuals have yet arrived. “The only draw back or misunderstanding about the pvc system and solar water heaters is that prior to the installation of the solar system, the electric bill would range from over $ 100.00 to about $ 500.00 per month. Guess our thinking when we heard abut the solar system it would save us quite a bit of money on the electricity usage. Once the solar system was installed, we did not see the differences in usage or cost. They was problem where we had some trees that was affecting the solar panels to asborb the sun energy. “If I could give zero stars I would. I’ve had ongoing issues with my newly installed $50k system since installation in the summer. The customer service is basically non existent with Rising sun and as other customers have said in their reviews, it is extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone in their office. They recently consolidated their operations in September and the customer service has gotten even worse since. There is no professionalism or accountability on their end and they basically take the money and run. I recommend any other company for your solar needs. This entire experience has been a nightmare. “I apologize this review is for the Big Island and since I can’t get an acceptable response from them, I’ll have to write my review on this site. Since May 2023, we have been paying on our solar loan, and we still have no solar panels. We signed the contract with Rising Sun in January 2023 with a planned installation of May/June 2023. It then slid to July/August 2023. It slid again to September 2023. Rising Sun has said the problem is scheduling. And it’ sliding again. “Very disappointed in the service they provide. They finally answered the phone after leaving messages on their voicemail. She knows who she is but the person that answered the phone is very rude and it seems like she hates her job. I didn’t deserve to be treated that way and no one does. She talked to me like I was stupid and in today’s world, we don’t have to treat people this way. How can you run a business a successful business when you talk down to your customers and treat them like no one. I would probably never do business with them again and will be letting others know about their lack of care and human respect. Very sad!!! Blamestorm culture, management does not assist or problemsolve they just blame lowest level staff for problems existing. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Culture of blaming and fingurepointing but no leadership presence let alone accountability. they’re broke, no money for equipment. Workload is completely unreasonable because they can’t afford to hire enough staff. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? No leadership, the owner hasn’t met with or even had a video meeting with field staff in the 3 years I’ve worked here. “Three things to know about Rising Sun Solar on Maui: 1. The SolarEdge equipment they install seems to fail more often than that of other brands. It had to be replaced twice the first month of operation and has now been dead for four days (3 1/2 years after the first problems were addressed). The previous installation from Haleakala Solar did not have any issues at all during the five years previous to that. 2. Rising Sun does not monitor your equipment. You are responsible for checking on it continuously and noticing that there is no output from the system. 3. If you do notice that your system is completely down (not producing electricity at all), they do not treat it a a priority to get it working again, even if you are within warranty. In our case they said they would check it out in 3 1/2 weeks because “We have a busy schedule over the next few weeks.”. I could not get an answer from their service department on if that meant that they have complete system outages to address for every day of the coming weeks or if they do not consider a complete system outage as an emergency which should go ahead of minor scheduled maintenance.” – Rob W. ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 2022
