“The process overall took almost a year. However it was very much worth the wait. I’d rather pay them money than give it to Eversource. I can’t really speak to overall value as of yet. I have not even received my first bill. However the process though long was pretty smooth. The company was generally responsive with a few lags but nothing that caused any concern. “Not reliable. It started perfectly and continued that way for a couple of weeks during the design of a large ground based array. Then the rep simply stopped interacting with us. The last email from him indicated he’d send us an updated quote, which I would have signed. I reached out for weeks. This has cost me thousands of dollars as the CT rebates are now expiring and I would have simply gone with someone else if he had said they didn’t want the ($50,000) job. To make matters worse, he continues to have me on his contact list and occasionally emails me offers and suggestions. I again called and emailed to find out what happened – silence. “I was very pleased with the whole process of working with EarthLight Solar. Each of the staff that I worked with were helpful and knowledgeable whether we spoke on the phone or in person or exchanged emails. Everything was clear and they patiently answered all my questions. “Great experience. This is the second time we have installed solar on a home and Earthlight is by far better company. The whole process from initial meeting thru activation went as planned and the communication was superb. The company that installed the system on our old house never responded to issues. “The new people that Earthlight has working their call center make this company very difficult to do business with. They test your patience telling you that they know more about your house and the shade it gets from a satellite image than you who lives there and the many other solar companies who’ve also surveyed your land with not only satellites but drones and such. If you live in an open field with zero and I mean zero tree coverage like a lot of the houses in Ellington then I could see yourself potentially having a different experience. My garage is the only part of my house with tree coverage and they refused to come out until I removed trees. All of the trees on my property that produce shade are already cut. “While on the highway I watched one of their drivers pass someone on the right, the person in the left lane that they were passing was trying to move over to get off the highway. Their driver proceeded to not let the other car over and nearly caused an accident because of it. He did it intentionally and even had the nerve to run his mouth when I called him out on it. Driver even admitted saying “I was trying to pass someone” apparently he never learned you never pass on the right.
