What do Customers Say about the Efficient Home Services?

Positive reviews:

“Great star experience from everyone at EHS. We’re extremely happy with the overall process and how everything has turned out to be. My system is on and producing power and my backup battery is ready to go in case of a power outage special things to Will, who has educated me on the software app and how everything works.” – tlavenduski ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 14, 2025

“Today, Kirby came by to inspect our Solar Panel system. He activated the system, answered all the question and showed us how the cellphone monitoring app worked. We asked him other questions about expanding the systems capacity and we were pleasently supriced in the information provided. It was obvious, he had many years experience and knew the answers to our questions.” – vvechevarria ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 5, 2025

Negative reviews:

“Initially I was pleased with EHS. They seemed to know what they were doing, answered all my questions, and the installation went smoothly. That was over four months ago – November. Since then, I’ve been waiting to actually have a system that I can use. First, scheduling the city inspection was delayed until January. I gave EHS a pass on that one and chalked it up to the city being backlogged. After failing the initial inspection (You’d think EHS would have this down by now), I’ve been waiting patiently for a re-inspection. EHS blames the city, but when I called the city department directly, they claim they are waiting on additional information from EHS. I’m caught in the middle of the finger pointing. Now I’m having trouble getting EHS to call me back. It’s as if they’ve moved on and decided they would prefer to focus on their new installations rather than helping me get mine running.” – kjsindfw ⭐⭐☆☆☆ March 22, 2023

“The incompetency we have seen at all levels has been astonishing. We contracted for a panel install 7 moths ago. Although the system is still not operational, we are required to make payments. Because they have already received payment and don’t seem capable to pass inspection, they have just stopped communicating. While terribly disappointed, we have been very respectful and patience. All signs point toward litigation.” – carol.neiger ⭐☆☆☆☆ February 15, 2023

Positive reviews:

“From the moment my solar and Tesla system was being installed, Derek Kirby with EHS (Efficient Home Services) made the entire experience easier. He took the time to walk me through downloading the Tesla app, set everything up, and made sure I understood what I was looking at. He’s respectful, patient, and carries himself with a level of professionalism that honestly stands out. Even though the interconnection with Duke Energy took a while and only went live today, Kirby still stopped by to make sure everything was working the way it should. He walked me through the app again, answered every question, and double-checked the system before he left. There are still a few cosmetic solar issues that need to be addressed, but this review is specifically about Kirby and the effort he puts into his work. His attention to detail and the way he stays on top of things makes a big difference. If you’re looking into solar, I would highly recommend Kirby at Efficient Home Services for your solar needs.” – Jaundoo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 14, 2025

“Mr. Derrick Kirby completed my Solar hookup and system is now ready to run. He also had to get 2 panels communicating with controller. Derek is very professional and patient with customer (me)! I highly recommend if you are having issues request Derrick from (EHS) he will make sure everything is to your satisfaction. In my estimation (EHS) has a top notch professional with them!” – Mud ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 25, 2025

Negative reviews:

“EHS installed our solar panels in May, 2024. At the same time, they installed our A/C and heating system. All was well for about a year, and then I had an issue with the heat. I called — no answer. I must have left six or seven voicemails and got no return call. Finally, I called another independent heating service. A year later, again, a problem with the heat. I called EHS. At least someone answered. A very nice woman informed me that no manager was available to review my warranty because they were ALL at an off-site training session. All of them. I expressed my frustration, told her this was my second disappointing experience with EHS. She sympathized and the. Added that they actually no longer offer service to their systems, but they will offer warranty service, hence the need for someone to review my watt see if I qualify for some help. Since the install was about 18 months ago, I apparently do NOT qualify — so why not just tell me that? I called an outside heating and cooling company. I made it clear to EHS that I was unhappy and I would be letting people know what my experience had been.” – Bad service ⭐⭐☆☆☆ October 31, 2025

“It took 8 months from start to finish. They charged me $1000 for the $750 RETE tax package but never paid the money to RETE so I am not able to use their services and the money has not been refunded to me. They also owe me a refund of $4900 which I have been waiting for since December and the manufacture of the solar panels has placed a $12,000 lien on my house because EHS has not paid the balance even though they have the full $54k from me. I cannot get anyone on the phone nor do they return emails. Also, my electric bill is still around $200!” – Caye ⭐☆☆☆☆ May 27, 2025

Positive reviews:

“Everything from initial contact through stopping in to see how things are going is done extremely well. My electric bill is coming in under what was expected month after month. Tack on the tax rebate and my ROI will be even in just under 4 years. I couldn’t be happier.” – Tim F. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 25, 2022

“I did my homework prior to doing an inquiry about solar for our home and let me just say, that out of the companies that I spoke too, EHS were the only ones that could answer all my questions over the phone before doing the onsite consult and this was a plus. When we scheduled the onsite consult, the sales rep was also fully knowledgeable about the products and process and even explained the process in detail which made our decision a lot easier. On installation day, we had a small hick-up and the installation guys were able to fix it on the fly and worked hard for 3 days (in hot, humid, rainy weather) to get the installation done. Best installation people we have ever worked with and would recommend them to everyone. The electrician we had on site from EHS, was also able to answer our questions regarding our connection and things we were considering down the road. Even the office people we spoke to on the phone kept us in loop of the next phase prior to it happening. All in all this was the best experience we have had in a long time and I would recommend them to everyone we know. Thank you for all your hard work.” – Virginia W. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 23, 2018

Negative reviews:

“I paid this firm $200 to have someone come out and do a wattage check on 2 solar panels that seem to not be working. Their person never came. This was after being told for 2 months that my panels were on their way. I call almost every day and no one ever picks up the phone.” – Bad service ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 31, 2025

“Ridiculously bad service. EHS installed my a/c in May 2024, Goodman, by Daikin. the system froze up and started leaking in October 2025, 17 months into what was supposed to be a ten-year warranty. BUT EHS NEVER TOLD DAIKIN THEY HAD INSTALLED THE SYSTEM. Daikin says they can’t honor a warranty that was never registered. Almost a month since I reviewed this with EHS, they have done NOTHING to straighten out this mess. I’ve spoken half a dozen times with very polite staff who assure me they are doing something. Either they are liars or they have no communication skills whatsoever. I’m looking at a bill for $4,800. I don’t get it.” – Michael S. ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 17, 2025

Positive reviews:

“I have had great service from efficient home services. We just activated our Tesla inverters and everything is working properly. We are very excited to start saving money and would highly recommend efficient home services if youre looking into going Solar.” – RAMANA G ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 26, 2025

“Everyone has been great from start to finish. Everyone has been very friendly and knowledgeable. I also did get a few other quotes with other companies in the area to compare product as well as pricing and I did end up going with EHS due to the pricing and the equipment that they offered. They are the best in the industry very good communication.” – Alexis S ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 21, 2025

Negative reviews:

“I wish I could give a negative star. Avoid them like the plague. 20-year warrantee is a sales pitch. They refuse to support their installations and manufacturing vendor is the only line of support because they stand by their product. The production of the product deployed says EHS doesn’t even respond to their calls. The sale’s rep even sold me on products that are not available. These new panels are 3% more efficient but when you call in they do not even offer that product. I paid for 20kwh batteries and they only installed 2 5’s but reported to Duke Energy that they deployed 2 10’s.” – J. T. ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 5, 2025

“Everyone very receptive and helpful before the signing, after that the system was not active on Tesla side ,the follow up was poor and on top of that in order to close the deal I was offer a rebate , I have been calling since December every 2 weeks and they recognize the rebate has not been send but there is no action , actually the manager got offended at the moment I explained to her the frustration and disappointment with her company for the lack of interest in honor a bidding contract ..sad the need to go to court for that .” – Arturo R ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 29, 2025

Positive reviews:

“I learned a lot working for this company. Taught me about accountability and respect for others. Learned how to install hot water heaters an pool pumps” – Solar Panel Installer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ September 16, 2020

“The hiring process is quick and easy, training is a breeze, the manager is encouraging, the leads are warm and the money is great. The environment is fun and friendly. They promote from within and are rated A+ by the BBB. Highly recommend trying it out.” – Call Center Representative ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ September 10, 2020

Negative reviews:

“Terrible place to work for your job is always on the line and if you don’t work weekends holidays and miss family outtings your job is on the line. Your life there has to be work nothing else” – Solar Installer ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 6, 2021

“Just look at the employee churn rate. That should tell you everything you need to know about the company. Red flag after red flag. They steal from their employees and their customers.” – Senior Sales Representative ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 28, 2021

Positive reviews:

“EHS sent two of the representatives (Moe & Eric) to service my solar equipment. They showed the highest level of professionalism, and took care of everything in a no-nonsense professional manner. I feel that EHS shows an extremely high Caliber of customer service, which in today’s day is very comforting to see. And I would recommend them to anyone looking for their services.” – Jose Fernandez ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 28, 2025

“Kirby was fantastic. He came Monday to finish the inspection and activate my solar backup system. After he left I found a problem. I called him on the number he left me with and he talked me through the fix. Very courteous even though he was busy at the time.” – Mary Turner ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 4, 2025

Negative reviews:

“November 2025–We have had EHS for few years. They have no regard for their customers. They seem great when they first get you but after that they don’t respond within a reasonable time, they don’t even return phone calls. Just be careful when contacting with them.” – Smith Laura ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 4, 2025

“Seems like we’re having the same experience as several other customers. Take the money and run! No customer service, literally trying to get them to come out for MONTHS with no responses, system completely down not producing anything for about 7 months now. Spent 45k on a solar system a few years ago with them and it was a complete mess from the sales team to the installers, and now customer service is nonexistant. Setting up meetings with local news outlets to spread the word about smash and grab style business they run – BUYER BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS TRASH SERVICE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE DON’T GET STUCK WITH THIS PLACE you’ll be sorry when it stops working shortly after install.” – Les McDannel ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 11, 2025
