What do Customers Say about the Reno Solar?
Positive reviews:
“Very happy with this company. There have been delays, but Tara was very friendly and dedicated to solving problems as they arose (mostly NV Energy). Shawn came today to finalize work on the system and was especially helpful and reassuring as we made sure that the right things were connected to the battery. Would definitely recommend Reno Solar! Other plusses: local company, competitive prices.” – Vicki L. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 12, 2024
“I had Reno Solar install 11 solar panels on our roof last December and it’s definitely been the best decision. My most recent electric bill was $17 and that’s just basic service charge and various fees that NV Energy charges. We’ve used our air conditioner and the panels are covering our needs. We are definitely saving money. Jory and his staff and crews were always available to answer my questions and always professional and courteous. If you’re on the fence about Solar I highly Recommend Reno Solar. There was no money out of pocket and my monthly payment and NV energy’s fees is less then what I was paying for electricity. I also received a huge tax incentive on my taxes this year. Locally owned and operated. Who doesn’t want to save money.” – Chris K. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 16, 2023
Negative reviews:
“Horrible experience! their junior staff were overworked and the management never stepped in to help, ever! even after being asked to jump in and help resolve complex issues, management was nowhere to be found. now that it’s been installed, months after they promised, they don’t want to provide customer service or install a battery. What a horrible company. I wish I never used them.” – Laura S. ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 29, 2025
“We had Reno Solar install a system in early 2024. Great work, great employees, BUT, in December our system apparently stopped exporting power to NV Energy. Our previous bills were around $20 a month. December – $165. January – $185. February – $200. The app shows power exported, but NV Energy says nothing received for the last 3 months. System controller does not show any faults, either. Have left SEVERAL messages on Reno Solar existing customer phone line without ANY response. NOT a happy customer.” – Rick M. ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 4, 2025
Negative reviews:
“A Reno-based solar company assured me, based on a thorough review of my NV Energy bills, that their quoted panel system would fully meet my household’s energy needs. Now, a year later, I’m facing a devastating financial burden. I’m not only paying for the solar panels, but my NV Energy bill remains the same or even higher than before installation. Essentially, I’m paying triple for my energy. The company’s only proposed solution is to add more panels, further increasing my monthly costs. This is a clear misrepresentation and has resulted in significant financial hardship. I need immediate assistance to rectify this situation.” – gerardo t ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 18, 2025
“Reno Solar are by far the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. I bought our system from them and turned it on November 2022 and have had to deal with system outages all year long. I missed generating energy this Summer and the entire time Reno Solar refused to send technicians out to help. I managed to get technicians out here only twice this year and they’d spend about an hour each time, tweak something, and then hope that would keep the system running. I kept pointing out that the system was not generating energy consistently and the customer support representative would just insist on showing a single day that we produced energy and say it’s working fine. They’d then point out how very busy their technicians are and that they’d eventually get someone to swing by. As soon as they got their money last year they were done with us and off to do more installs. Stay as far from Reno Solar as possible please!” – Brian H ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 26, 2023
Positive reviews:
“We checked other solar panel installer companies in Northern Nevada and chose Reno Solar because of their prompt customer response and good value. The solar panels were just installed and the ‘team 1’ crew did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. I strongly recommend contacting Reno Solar if you are interested in getting solar panels for your home.” – David Reynolds (Dave) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ a year ago
“Very painless process. Got roof and solar done. Roof was done in just a bit over two days and Soalr in one. Quick, efficient and effortless. Ryan’s communication was on point as well as the entire Reno Solar team. HIGHLY recommended!” – Jett ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 6 months ago
Negative reviews:
“They won’t provide customer service after install. DO NOT HIRE THEM. The management does not want to help their overworked staff or their customers. I would stay away from a poorly run company and go to Costco for solar. It took 6months to get Reno solar installed. Frustrating process too.” – laura wegs ⭐☆☆☆☆ 3 months ago
“I have had the system for almost a year. i am now having trouble with my gateway and getting it connected to the internet. i have called multiple times, left messages and when i do talk someone i am assured i will receive a call back. but i am now going on over a lonth and have yet to have someone reach out to me. i feel like once the system was installed i am now of little importance. The customer service is a joke. I just want help fixing my system that they installed and they seem like they couldn’t care less.” – Scott McDuffie ⭐☆☆☆☆ 5 months ago
