“Our entire experience from our first solar consultation to the insulation has been simple and worry free. “Having heard that Sunpower was a long-established and respected solar company that made its own equipment, I chose them and signed a deal with their contractor, esaSolar, in August 2020. There was room on my roof for about a dozen panels, and I ordered one of their Sunvault batteries as back-up to the system. More than seven months later, the system STILL isn’t working. It seems that almost everything that could go wrong has gone wrong: long delays in supply of batteries, the wrong number of roof-supports installed on our flat roof, the engineers diagnosing faulty equipment and then not replacing it, different departments not communicating with each other, intra-company emails being copied to me in error, revealing what a mess the whole project is. “Most importantly, the system is excellent and I’m very happy with the quality. However, I was told it would be installed within three months which would have been October. Four months later I had to reach out to ESA looking for information. The scheduled me for December 7, 2019. This was a big deal because of the tax rebate implications. Dec. 7 came and went and again I had to call. They told my I was rescheduled for late January. It ended up finally getting completed late February, almost 6 months after the original install date. I would use ESA and their product is fantastic. But I would make sure you get your install date in writing and have an agreement in place for financial compensation should they not be able to complete install by a specific date. The most frustrating thing to me is there was NO communication on their part. I had to reach out to them via phone and email every time. “The company does not provide advancement even though they try and preach there is. There is always a carrot dangled in front of your face promising you something to benefit them, but results in empty promises for yourself. There is no organization in the office almost seems no one talks to each other at all. Also there is favoritism within the office towards certain individuals and those become untouchable. The office has no idea what goes on beyond those walls all they care about is the job getting done. They have no clue of who is actually working and who’s just on there phone all day. Overall the job is hard labor job working in the heat all year long on a roof. “I had my 11.4kw system installed back in 2018. We also purchased the removal take down package. Because of insurance issues, we had to get a new roof. ESA came out and removed my planels and re-installed them. “Esa solar was awesome. Brooks came and spent time with us showing us the difference between their panels and other companies. They took time to figure how much solar we needed and got us the right amount. We have a huge system 16kW because we have a bigger house and 5 of us. The numbers have been spot on for 6 months now. I love the app, shows how much electricity we are using. How much we are generating, cost savings etc. Duke on the other hand was a pain. “My first appointment of 10/02 had been rescheduled because of a double booking and was rescheduled the following day at 9:30 AM. On Thursday, October 1, I was asked to email my electric bills to that person, which I did. Today, the day I was supposed to have the meeting, nothing at 9:30, so I texted him and asked for the Zoom meeting code. No response. I texted again and asked if we were still having the meeting, no response. I sent 2 “??”, no response. I called the main office and told them this was very unprofessional. Them all of a sudden I receive a text message that the meeting was scrubbed for a family matter. I support family matters but the right thing would have been to inform the customer before the scheduled meeting and not 1 hour later. The person on the phone said she was going to escalade this and get back to me. It’s almost a couple of hours. I still haven’t heard anything.
