Then I met Mary Carlson with New Day Solar and I knew her company was different. “I went with this company for the many positive reviews, sadly my experience has been horrible. They have been paid in full yet my system is still not up and running. Failed inspections and poor communication has been my experience with this company. They blame city for inspection failure, but I have doubts with the amount of work they had to do. Makes me feel I have to contact another solar company to make sure they are doing job right. Do not pay them in full before your system is up and running, they will just give you the cold shoulder. “There were a few issues with our project. The biggest issue is that we experienced a high level of miscommunication. We were told that there would be no work done to our breaker box when installing our batteries because they will use a transfer switch power control system (PCS) that. limits backfeed to the main panel. But we desperately needed to upgrade our panel and felt we had no choice in the matter. So we paid an electrician to put in a subpanel a mere month before the project by New Day Solar started, where an electrician from the company did just that. Effectively wasting our money. Our fault for not reading the fine print I suppose. “The online prices on the Newday website are impressive but that is not what you will be quoted in the proposal. The high interest rate fee will bring the price up by about $9000. I had high hopes for this company because they post good prices online but those are deceiving once you find out the cost of financing.
