What do Customers Say about the High Desert Energy?

yelp.com

Positive reviews:

“Great products, great customer service, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to save money by going solar.” – Joseph P. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 15, 2023

“They explained in detail everything that they planned to do. From step to finish they kept me informed. The price for the panels was very reasonable. The installation was too notch. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in Solar for their home’s.” – Tommy H. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ September 1, 2021

Negative reviews:

“Deceptive sales practices. Never purchase solar from door to door sales people purchase directly through the company who installs the product, as they can educate you better than a sales person trying to pad their own pockets.. Get everything in writing don’t be pressured to purchase right away and talk to current customers. More importantly do your research on how your billing with your current utility company will be on the go forward. Ashley H. from High Desert Energy is extremely disingenuous and unprofessional” – Bethina J. ⭐☆☆☆☆ June 22, 2025

“They ignore no soliciting signs. When contacted to ask why, they return with vulgarities and threats. They hire low IQ people and send them out trying to push their solar panel scam. Their BBB rating is in the toilet. Multiple bad reviews online across many platforms, including this one.” – Benjamin S. ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 18, 2024

Negative reviews:

“This company needs to be looked into they are guaranteeing services with their solar sales that they can’t deliver. Just spoke to one of their representatives that so unprofessional and couldn’t even point me in the right direction.” – CEC ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 25, 2025

“Talked to high desert energy about what I wanted to cover in my house they saw my bills and added extra solar panels to cover extras. I have 46 panels and I have solar payments and still electric bill. The installer said that they contacted HDE and told them the calculation was wrong but owner of HDE without contacting me still approved the installation. The owner takes no blame and is extremely rude and foul mouth. I have been dealing with this owner for months and then tells me he is paying for Xtra 10 panels and waiting for permit!! He lied!!! Now acts like he doesn’t know who I am and says you have wrong business!! Don’t trust this owner of High Desert energy. Run don’t walk away from this company. I have all the texts and emails of this man saying he paid for 10 more panels. ******** the owner is a liar. Again I have all emails from High Desert energy and the installer from the past several months and planning on making more decisions. HDE energy blames installer but HDE are the ones who came up with the quote several months before solar were installed. The installer thought HDE contacted me about the incorrect planning but the way I see the owner ******** was only out to make money. Now acts like he’s never heard me when he texted rude comments to me a few weeks ago. Again run don’t walk from this company. Mind you I don’t have huge house.” – Nicole F ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 12, 2023

Google Reviews

Positive reviews:

“I’m a tough customer seeking high quality at a low price. Out of six quotes, High Desert Energy offered the most reasonable price and excellent phone service. Installation was faster than promised, and they promptly replaced a faulty panel at no charge. My system now generates 28–38 kWh/day, as expected. Top-quality Solar Panel Installation.” – Konrad Derheim ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 18, 2025

“Finally found the right company before the tax credit expired. High Desert Energy managed the main electric panel upgrade professionally and completed the project fast. Their team was efficient and courteous. Highly recommended to friends and family.” – Duke Hingley ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 18, 2025

Negative reviews:

“High Desert Energy grossly misrepresented their system when they sold it to us. They told us our power company would credit us at a 1:1 ratio for every KWh generated versus what we used. That was a bald-faced lie. We get charged $0.097 per KWh, but we only get a credit of $0.04 per KWh, less than half. At that point, the math did not make sense for solar “saving us money.” The power company also charged us $150 for installing a new meter to handle the reverse power flow, which we were not advised of. The original sales rep, George, was unresponsive for weeks and then finally replied that he would, “look into it,” but we never heard from him after that. The owner of the company was a jerk about it. Premier Solar Solutions (Suntria) installed it, damaging the stucco on the facade of our patio roof in the process. I ended up having to fix that myself. HDE also lied about the tax refund. They made it sound like a sure thing, but it’s not a refundable credit; it’s an offset. Because we already had carryover tax credits from adopting three children, we had no tax liability, so we didn’t get the federal refund for the solar panels, which screwed up the loan payment schedule.” – Peter and Kelsey Redwine ⭐☆☆☆☆ June 18, 2025

“Had solar system installed and the salesmans “Johnny” made statements that are now I guess untrue. We were told that the panels would be cleaned and serviced every three months. Including spraying a deterrent for pigeons. After over 9 moths of having the panels I was able to get ahold of someone at the company. I was told that they do not offer cleaning services and that “Johnny” has not worked for the company for two years. Just a huge mess of an experience. Just want to let people know to watch out for what they are offering. Lastly on my call inwas told that they would get back to me about the pigeon problem…it’s been over 3 weeks. Never was holding my breath.” – Kevin Simpson ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 2023
