“My first solar pool heating system was installed by Alcor about 15 yrs ago. I had to replace it so of course I used Alcor again. They have given me great service over the years and this new system installation went even better! Without the solar heat my pool was about 72. Too cold for me and even my granddaughter! They sent Joe and Joe to do the job.Great guys! Everything was removed on Tuesday and the new system installed on Thursday. They answered all my questions and did a great job! One day later my pool is up to 80 and we’re having a heat wave! So happy I can swim in my pool again! Thanks Alcor! “No masks, the woman on the phone was not personable. I have a Suntrek system that the former homeowners put in and I can’t get Suntrek to come out or respond to me so I had to go with Alcor. I was rudely informed that because of my steep roof, I’d have to find someone else to shut the system down next winter. They charge an exorbitant amount for the winterization service to begin with and then tacked on an extra fee because I was coming to them as a brand new client after 12/31. Doesn’t seem like they care for repeat business from me. “We were referred to Alcor Solar by our pool company and the referral was well justified. When they initially came to our home, they surveyed our roofs for the best panel location and measured the size of the pool to determine the correct number of panels required to heat it. Cliff and Jeff did an incredible job of installing the panels and connecting them to our existing pool system. Not only does the system perform well, it looks great. They completed the installation in one day and cleaned up after themselves when done. I would recommend Alcor Solar to anyone who is looking into cutting the costs of heating a pool. “We got solar pool heating installed and every day in the spring, summer and fall our pool is at 80-85 degrees depending on where we set it. In the summer the pool can actually get too warm so we simply adjust the automatic thermostat. They installed it quickly and cleaned up everything spotless. Because I had an older pool pump they needed to order a special part which was hard to find and in 3 days it was installed. I had a concern about the need for them to cut concrete but they were able to tunnel below the concrete so it looks seamless. “I agree with the previous comments about the unprofessionalism of this business. Scheduling is a nightmare, and Al gets very irritated if you ask for timing so they can access your roof.The owner appears very unstable based on email exchanges; they lost our payment, then found it. In the meantime, they refused service, and when they found the check we provided, they asked to cash it in exchange for servicing manufacturer defects with Solar Industries collectors. They are exclusive in the area so I would look elsewhere as you are stuck with someone who is a little off.They don’t stand by their product install and warranty from Solar Industries (Aquatherm).
