“I started the process early on, we wanted to add solar PV to our new home build. Our initial contact was over a year in advance. Preliminary guesstimates were made to our needs and sizing. Once contractor was completed enough, Advance came in. Quick, professional work, and a perfect running system. We had spec’d one size inverter, they installed next smaller based on engineer input. That might be only downfall, in case I want to add panels. Installed system without battery backup, so our goal was to net-meter to about 0, but our grid usage exceeds solar output (my fault, not theirs). Hard to plan based on theoreticals, but system is great, follow up is good, any and all questions answered quickly. Great experience. “If anyone considers getting solar and furthermore considers Advanced Solar & Spa located in Fort Lauderdale and Fort Meyers. Please do not use them! We paid over 70,000 to them in 2016. Now my micro inverters are having serious issues and the array that is shown is wrong because they did not place the panels with the micro inverters in the places that they showed to be according to Enphase. Now I am stuck with output problems and the only way to fix it is to have another company take the panels off the roof and check them individually and reinstall. At a cost of roughly $2000.00. I have tried repeatedly to get Advanced Solar to fix their mess up and they will not respond. All they did was send me a list of the panels and micro inverter numbers but I have no idea where on the 41k system they are. Enphase sent me a new micro inverter. However when the guy I hired went up there to change it the bad micro inverter didn’t match the panel. These a- holes just put them up in no particular order instead of following their own schematic. “Lost permits, trash left of property, tools left in yard, vast delays in the installation process then not keeping us properly informed about why the delays were happening (lying), Lied to our faces to get us to sign a contract then not putting said promises in contract, no assistance in the net metering application then holding the permits from us for weeks so we cant finalize the net metering application, sending us the wrong permits, denials about lost permits and debris left in yard and roof, holes left in yard from ladders….it goes on and on. “It is not often I write a review, however this needs to be told. I checked the water temp in my pool and it was 70 degrees which means the Solar was not working. I called was put on hold for at a second or so and I think the person that answered was Josh could have been John I am terrible with names. He walked me through the whole system and we figured out that someone had turned my valves off. He told me to walk around the house while he was on the phone to make sure there wasn’t any sign of water leaking. Afetr turning on the valves the system went back to normal operation. “Due to Hurricane Ian, we needed a new roof and solar panels for the pool. Brian at Advance Solar kept me in the loop with a timeframe from ordering to install. When the job was completed, he let me know we passed the final inspection. Yambo showed up before the crew to answer any questions and walked me through the process. “We recently had our roof replaced so I also needed our solar panels replaced. I received a quote from Advance solar and when it came time to let them know that the roof was done and I needed to schedule them for the re-installation, I was informed that they would not honor the quote and the increased the price substantially. “Initial meeting with Jack Mast was very positive. He took the time to explain everything that was required and answered all my questions…I never felt rushed to make a decision at that moment. “The panels worked well as far as warming the pool, but they didn’t install correctly into the trusses, resulting in roof damage over the next 5 years. Panels not installed properly several years ago, causing major roof damage. When the company was notified of the roof damage, they came and took pictures and said they would review the situation, but they never got back to me. “I recently discovered a small slow leak from one of the PVC pipes in our solar heating system that was installed a couple of years ago. It is under warranty. But I needed some instruction on how to isolate the solar so there wouldn’t be leak induced damage on our roof. Fortunately, even though it was a Saturday, One of the team members named JASON was on call for Advanced Solar. He called me and I was not available but agreed to set up a time when he could instruct me on how to perform the necessary adjustments in the valves. I was not familiar with the process and he was very patient and explaining to me how to adjust the valves so there would be no additional leaking. They did make sure to collect their money before it was even approved by FPL.
