Turning over the SREC to Renewable and getting nothing in the way of power from the solar panels. If they come knocking on your door, run in the opposite direction. “We used Renewable Energy to provide a battery backup for our previously installed solar array. The crew was fantastic, figuring out how to solve a problem when the gas line got in the way of where the battery was supposed to go. They were efficient, cleaned everything up, and made sure it was all working perfectly before they left. “We had 11 solar panels installed in fall 2021 and have been dissatisfied with nearly every aspect — power generated, financing, and cost savings. The installation took far longer than expected, the electrician used was not licensed, and two appliances shorted out within two weeks of turning on the system. The panel was relabeled improperly. Renewable Energy agreed to send a licensed electrician to fix the issues — no one ever showed up. We have never generated the electricity or SREC credits estimated by the salesman, and the financing structure does not allow paying down the principal with extra payments. After two years of paying extra monthly, we’ve paid off only about $1,000 of the principal. We have had 2 panels fail under warranty, and it takes them months to replace them. The replacement panel they sent was also defective. It will end up being over 6 months of lost production.
