“We hired them to install a new HVAC. After the loan went through, the work slowed down. We had to call them many times to come back to work on the project. They left large gaps between the house and the HVAC system, and a crack in our ceiling. They said they would come back to fix those but never did. I contacted them more than 4 times and nothing happened. It is now 2+ months since they started the project and we are still looking at the crack on the ceiling and the large gap in the back of the house. Unfortunately our problem was more serious than a simple clog, but the plumber explained everything well, gave us the cost upfront, and it was reasonable. “I was ghosted by a plumber today. Customer service would only direct me to their dispatch department for answers, which was closed all day. I only have two days off a week and I spent one of them waiting for someone to arrive between the 12–4 PM window — no one arrived, even after waiting the rest of the day. “This company is overpriced and overbooked. When there is an issue with the equipment, they are most likely a week out from looking at it. When your air conditioner fails they expect you to wait days in the heat with no solution offered. “After having them service my York furnace, the blower soon started to fall apart. They charged $80 for a diagnostic call, quoted $1,790 to fix it, and lied about parts no longer being available. I found the parts at a local York distributor for $300. The tech agreed to install at $120/hour but never returned my calls to schedule. A licensed professional I found through the distributor installed the blower at $75/hour in just an hour and a half. Strongbuilt tried to get me to pay $1,790 for a job that cost $425. “Our air conditioner had quit cooling and I left an email to ask someone be sent out. My email was answered with a phone call by a polite and efficient young lady who set me up with an afternoon appointment. I was pleasantly surprised when the repair man called around 10:30 to say he was nearby and could come earlier. “We’ve been having on and off issues with this clog for years. Manuel was very knowledgeable and capable — even after things started draining he identified a secondary clog and cleared it. He also gave me ideas about the underlying issue and offered a service to identify it for certain. “Scheduled a furnace tune-up. The tech was unable to start up the system and initially claimed the heat exchanger was cracked and a new current controller was needed. When I pushed back, he changed his diagnosis to a bad transformer. When I agreed to replace the transformer at $350, he added that the heat exchanger also needed replacing for $1,500. He eventually admitted all they could do was replace the furnace and an estimator gave me a $7,500 bid for a basic 80% single-stage unit. I got competing bids for half the price.
