“It has been nine months since we engaged Neil Kelly and our project has slipped repeatedly. It took over five months to receive design renderings and pricing. Work on our exterior staircase was shoddy — the rail fell off when someone weighing 145 pounds used it, and we paid $9,000+ for that rough stair structure. We paid a deposit for Phase 2 and were later told the job might start in December because they are spread thin. No permits have been pulled, no vendors contacted. “I started my garage addition in November 2020 and it has still not been completed. Our original project manager quit and the construction manager was fired in the same week. Work was done without permits, walls had to be redone, and 11-foot trenches were dug along the side of my house causing concrete damage to my driveway. They refused to repair the destroyed grass. “It took 3 months to receive an estimated price for an insurance claim for my basement, and they then asked for a surprise $1,500 retainer they had never mentioned. At our first visit they told me it would take about 2 weeks. My insurance company said the retainer seemed suspicious and not normal.
