“Great experience with the sales agent, design/plan of the solar installation, and great value through Clayco. They use top notch equipment and answered all questions professionally. I was considering a battery backup, but salesman said in my area I will likely not recover that cost due to electricity cost and the coop, so I appreciated that he did not try to rip us off on battery backup that while good would never recouped the cost. “Contracted Clayco Electric / Clayco Solar in April 2025 for a significant solar installation at my Oro Valley, AZ home. Paid in full by August 2025. The system has never fully operated correctly. More than 7 months later, a piece of the contracted system is not working owing to installation flaws. Customer service has been nonexistent — no proactive follow-up after installation, repeated broken commitments, and emails left unanswered for days at a time. “Jarod DuBois withe Clayco was wonderful! He came to the house and gave us a quote and then worked with us until we had exactly what we wanted. The cost was significantly less than other bids we received and with using better products (based on my research). Andrea with Clayco is on top of everything! The Clayco team are responsive to calls with questions – getting back to us in the same day and taking care of any concerns almost immediately. We had a breaker that kept tripping after installation and they were out in 1 day to evaluate and changed out the breaker that same day. No further issues. “Clayco was subcontracted by Monalee Solar to install my rooftop solar system and tesla back up battery. I was finally given permission to operate the system on June 25, 2024, which at that time I also had to pay the remaining amount of money per the contract with Monalee. As of today almost 2 months later my system still does not work properly and I am pretty much being ignored by Monalee. To top it off, I tried to reach out to Clay from Clayco advising him my system still does not work and he pretty much could care less he was only concerned that Monalee had not paid him his share yet, even though my system was not working properly. “They extended the primary ground wire with a crimp fitting and left it in the wall (not to code) they left a 16foot wad of cat 6 wire dangling on the side of my house. I had to add a j-box to install the wire in. I’m having a solar expert investigate the rest of their install. They also did not pay their bill with the supply house and the supply house file a mechanics lien without any “”Notice of Mechanics Lien”” sent to me.
