“I hired Sunline to replace my old roof and install a new Solar system. The roofing job took some time since the old roof was in disrepair. New fascia boards and plywood were necessary because of termite damage. The roofing team included Miguel , Tomas , Eric and Dan Chavez. The roofing manager kept me informed of the necessary repairs and supported his assertion with recognizable pictures of the damage. Every request that I made to Sunline was accommodated with a smile and a conscious desire to please their customer. The job manager, Dan Chavez, came to the house for his final inspection and made arrangements for his team to come back one more day to make sure the job completed was not only up to his standards but also mine. He utilized a drone operated high definition camera to show us their work and to make sure we were satisfied with the work done before closing out the job. The solar installation took just one day and the solar team working with the roofers to coordinate the installation with the solar system team led by Alex Guerra. I asked for a 2nd quote with some different installation materials, or for them to get back to me if that would not work for them and the guy just ghosted me. “We had a bad experience with another solar contractor and had to terminate our agreement. Then we contacted Sunline. What a difference! They responded immediately and moved fast. The price was lower than the old contractor. They gave us more information and explained it better. They kept us informed, in real time, of all steps in the process and were obviously right on top of things to move them along. As you may know, solar installation depends not just on your contractor, but also on obtaining inspections, permits and approvals from the City and SDG&E. I am convinced that they made the process go as fast as it possibly could. Installation looks great. “First engaged spring 2015. They quoted a system that included special framing for clay tile roof. Had to call back after not hearing back from them. Original salesman left the company. They did most of the work, but did not provide the tile framing as originally shown in the sales presentation. When I asked why the bait and switch they said, not only was the salesman no longer with them , but also that they were getting rid of the roofer they use, too. The installation was well designed and the lead engineer Erin did a great job coordinating the project and communicating with me. The technical/installation staff led by Christian expertly coordinated the work and managed an excellent and knowledgeable installation team of Jaime, Jesse, Manny, Pedro, and Allen. “Had a 42-panel system installed in 2018 by these guys. Had a few issues with them changing the panel layout without discussion, messing up my HVAC vent during install, and they didn’t clean up the roof debris from my yard because they were too busy (but eventually paid me to do it myself, which was fine). Biggest complaint though has been post-sale support. Two email inquiries in 2019 (one to the support team and one to the owner) went unanswered. Recently got a notice that my cellular monitoring system needed to be upgraded to 5G because they’re phasing out the old 3G service. Reached out to Sunline for some pricing and info via their support website. 10 days later, no response to the support ticket, so I called and left a message. Finally got a call back from someone who quoted $800 to change the cellular system out and also told me there was no wifi option available anymore. I contacted another solar company who said they could absolutely install a wifi system OR upgrade my cellular for only $250 total. Guy just came out today and did it for me.
