The 75-Mw Whistling Duck Solar Energy Center Is Fully up and Running, Supplying Solar Power to Four Towns in Florida

Florida Municipal Solar Project Expands

The Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) runs the Florida Municipal Solar Project, which has four solar sites. Whistling Duck Solar is the fourth. It is also the final place in Phase II of the 300-MW project. Origis Energy developed the plant in Levy County, Florida, which is close to Williston.

Power Distribution to Municipal Utilities

The Whistling Duck Solar Energy Center will provide power to Lake Worth Beach, Key West, Homestead, and Winter Park. Last December, when Phase II of the FMSP commenced, Rice Creek Solar Energy Center began sending solar power to Homestead, Lake Worth Beach, and Winter Park.

The project is run by FMPA, and the municipal utilities that are part of it purchase power from it. Origis Energy developed, owned, and operated the plant.

Origis Energy Partnership

“We are proud to still be working with FMPA and its members.”

Vikas Anand, the CEO of Origis Energy, said,

“Whistling Duck Solar will help FMPA reach its goal of providing stable and efficient solar power to the communities it serves.”

“We’re happy that this project will be a part of Florida’s energy system.”

The 75-MWAC Rice Creek Solar Energy Center was built in December 2024, and Whistling Duck Solar started doing business in December 2025.
