What Do Customers Say About the Acushnet Alternative Heating?
Positive reviews:
“Ordered pellets from Acushnet for the first time. The delivery didn’t happen on the scheduled day. Called the next day and was informed they would be coming on Saturday to drop the pellets. The guys were friendly and hard working. Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and that’s ok. In this day and age I think patients goes a long way. Thanks for making the drop – I will be ordering from you again.” – Brooke S. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 28, 2019
“Great customer service!! We had been having trouble with our gas fireplace lighting intermittently, or not at all. When the cleaning didn’t take care of the issue we called back and Luke, the owner, came out and fixed the problem. He was very knowledgeable of the system and fixed it for a very reasonable rate!” – Jamie R. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 12, 2017
Negative reviews:
“Long time customer. Purchased solar panels, pellet stoves, and wood pellets. Absolute terrible customer service. What happened? Originally went with this company because they were trustworthy, had great prices, and where very knowledgeable. But the service and communication is really bad. I have been calling every 2 or 3 days over the past 4 – 5 months and I NEVER get a call back. Leaving calm messages on their answering system, being told by the receptionist that someone will get back to you. Not ONE call back, EVER. A quarter of my solar panels have not been operating for over 6 months. Can’t get anyone to respond. Spent $40,000+ on solar panels with no support. They used to be a great local company that provided upstanding service and great prices but no longer. Try for yourself. Give them a call and see what happens. Good luck.” – Chris F. ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 23, 2022
“The owner seems really nice and seems to have good intentions…but fails to deliver. We scheduled a pellet stove install and asked for a call prior to confirm. No call…and when we called no answer – or answering machine!! Finally when we did confirm day of, the owner had a lame excuse for no answering service (snowstorm 2 years ago). We scheduled a time, and despite reassurances when we called was nearly 4 hours late, and a component we were offered was not delivered (and still not nearly a week later). The workers were messy outside, left the trash hidden in our garden. And while seemingly nice could not explain the way to work the stove. Don’t get this review wrong – the company seems nice, however, they failed to deliver on promises, and that is – in our opinion – worse than bad service.” – Kaisa H. ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 30, 2013
Positive reviews:
“I saw some negative reviews here, so thought I would weigh in with my own experience. We used these guys for our solar array. I talked to about 4 or 5 other installers and AAH was by far the cheapest. By around 30%. I do know that the other companies had dedicated customer contacts/salesmen, so it’s possible a lot of the cost goes there. And that may offer a more curated experience for buyers that some people feel is worth the price. I just wanted a functioning solar array for the best price possible and that’s what I got. Luke took care of the paperwork involved in getting the system registered with the state for SREC’s and the solar loan.” – Greg Travers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2018
“I hired them to install solar on my house. They were prompt in providing an estimate and information about available programs and discounts. Great folks to work with very pleased and now looking forward to seeing my savings.” – Heath Meetis ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2019

“My pellet stove broke 3 months ago and has not been fixed correctly since. We have not been able to use it this whole winter. Every time we call we get the run around that the owner isn’t there ect. Still waiting for it to be fixed. Glad I have 300$ worth of pellets I can’t use.” – Meredith Mattson-Days ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2018
Summarizing:
Do We Recommend Acushnet Alternative Heating Services?
Average Performer
Acushnet Alternative Heating gets the Average Performer badge and works in 1 state, but their third-party ratings don’t go above 4. Local community trust isn’t their strong suit either – their score is 2.9 in our evaluation. This badge means they are somehow reliable, but you need to pay more attention to what they have to offer. While Acushnet Alternative Heating may not lead the pack, they are certainly recognized for their capacity to meet a broad range of solar installation needs with commendable customer satisfaction. When considering this solar installer, you can add Acushnet Alternative Heating to your list as a lower priority and one that requires additional research before you decide to work with them.
