“VERY happy with our solar system and service we got from Alder Energy. I got quotes from several other companies, and one was priced pretty much the same as Alder, but none went the extra mile up front to ensure they were giving us an accurate picture of how many panels would fit on our roof. The other companies used Google Earth exclusively to estimate the size system we’d need. But Benny from Alder went up in the attic with a tape measure and essentially mapped out how the installation would work *before* writing up an estimate (which ended up being spot on of course). One other company underestimated the amount of panels that could fit on our roof (based on the Earth images, of course) , and subsequently tried to sell me on putting them on the front of my house (something our HOA forbids). He even talked about how they had lawyers that could force the HOA to allow it, which I really didn’t care for. On the other hand, Benny was able to maximize the space on our roof without adding panels on sections of our roof that wouldn’t provide efficient energy production (as opposed the layouts in the other guys’ proposals). At the end of the day, our system was spec’ed out to generate 98% of our last years energy consumption (it had to be under 99% or under to qualify for the SCE&G incentive). A few weeks after the system was install, Alder detected that one of the panes wasn’t producing as much as it should using the only monitoring system that’s included with their service. They called me up, let me know that someone would be coming to replace it, and they resolved the issue without me even being home. On top of that, Benny checked in with me months after the installation and reported that the system was producing 12% more that the estimate. “Benny and his team of talented folks at Alder Solar Energy worked with us from August 2019-January 2020 to get a 5000+kW system up and running on our residential property in GA. We had obtained estimates from 4 companies and extensively reviewed proposals, products, warranties from all. Although Alder’s proposal was slightly more than the lowest bid we received, we felt that their responsiveness, previous work history, knowledge of the system and various available products, and integrity were critical in deciding to work with them. We had one estimate from a different company that guaranteed way more than what was possible, and Benny helped explain what was realistic for our property. He did not try to oversell a system that wouldn’t produce energy. We felt that Alder worked to ensure we were fully aware of the plans and responded to a million questions we had. We were more than pleased with our final system and it has gotten lots of positive comments from neighbors. The system works great and is performing better than we estimated! “a 45k solar system on a very expensive place. Discovered a leak rotting out my roof hidden under warranty period. Contacted them and they sent someone out. They blamed roofer. Roofer came and said it was solar installation fault. Contacted solar again to remove panels to get it fixed. Whooops. Told me. They never came to my home. No record of it and now outside warranty. Don’t use these jokers. I spoke with Jonas and then they put me through to Don Zimmerman who is absolutely disgusting on the phone talking over me talking, down to me. R. U. N. UPDATE: I completely disagree with his rebuttal below. Bad experience. If they drill in brand new roof….and the leaks are where they drilled… their fault.
