“After dealing with them unsuccessfully for five years, I give them two stars. While my roof looks nice, it is still faulty. Numerous calls to the business and emails have been not returned. The roof still leaks. The receptionist is a piece of work – downright rude, abrasive, unpleasant. She actually raised her voice to me once and came just short of calling me a liar. She fails at customer service in nearly all aspects – argumentative nearly at all times. The people who I have contacted repeatedly have assured me that the work would be fixed. It has not. I have water coming into my garage in three different locations, and after many attempts to deal with Allen Brothers over two years, it has not been resolved. They came out twice to simply look at it, but that was all. Nothing more. I contacted another company who told me that the work Allen Brothers performed wasn’t exactly inferior, but wasn’t quite right either given the pitch and the valley of the roof line. Allen Brothers tried to state that the fault was in my siding, but that is not the case. The did not put the rubber up the wall of the house the correct distance, hence the problems. Allen Brothers said they would fix it. Six months later, they have not and I now have mold growing. I will never deal with this company again. “Good luck trying to get this company to communicate with you. You may have luck here & there but overall, you will put in a lot of effort & waiting for them. They used to be a great company, used them successfully for about 5 years. I think they had some changeover within the company and now it’s just pure frustration. I gave them 2 stars because they do good work and are pleasant once you actually get thru to them. I recently found another company that repairs/maintains slate roofs (there are very few which is why I had to stick it out with Allen brothers for a while) so they are coming out this week. I went up on the roof, and ended up having them come out to replace the rotted board. Another issue I had was that when they scheduled the appointment I told them specific days I would be home, but both times they called and said they wouldn’t be able to make it and scheduled it on a day I would not be home.
