AM Solar Inc review

Positive reviews:

“So thrilled I had AM Solar do the solar install for my Airstream! They are the place for Airstream solar setups. No problem with my many questions and revised quotes. The install was amazing — better than factory — and the detail of installing circuit breakers, switches, and touchscreens was great. At pickup I got a thorough walkthrough with tons of information. Best of all, their bill was less than their estimate and $6k less than another quote I received, with better gear installed. Mine was a 600W six-panel setup with a 3,000W inverter/charger, 12V tow vehicle charge unit, and 400Ah capacity in two batteries.” – Dave G. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 2, 2023

“Shout out to Dylan at AM Solar. I had a problem with my RV solar system and AM Solar was very busy — difficult to get an appointment for weeks. Dylan reached out and offered to do a phone consultation. We worked together and solved the problem in half an hour. Always great customer service from this company. Highly recommend!” – Michael G. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 2, 2021

Negative reviews:

“After 5 full days of installation, upon leaving a lot didn’t work. I had to stop in their driveway in the rain while they came inside and realized they hadn’t initialized the solar disconnect and several key settings were never configured on the GX 7″ screen — I had to do that myself. They also kept my new panels and MPPT from Airstream. I asked for them back within 12 hours and they claimed to have thrown them in the trash.” – Saul S. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ August 4, 2024

“In May 2024, AMSolar installed 8 panels on my motor home roof, all in parallel with no fuses on any panel — meaning up to 40 amps of possible current in the event of a short circuit. When I picked up the motor home I specifically asked about fuses and was told each panel was fused with links installed underneath. This was false. They lied to me about the fuses. Buyer beware.” – Don H. ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 28, 2024

Positive reviews:

“Two years in and our system is up and running well. After a small upgrade — 3 more 90W panels for 7 total and 2 more lithium batteries for 4 total — we can now stay off grid up to 7 days and even cycle the A/C throughout the night. Very happy with the install and service. Make sure you fully understand your system before traveling with it — it will save a ton of grief.” – Lambo Man ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2024

“Bought a solar kit from them and used their extensive DIY videos and FAQs to guide me through the process. When I hit inevitable snags, they were really helpful in working through them. The kits are a little more expensive than sourcing everything yourself, but they have everything you need — no time-consuming trips to the hardware store or waiting on parts.” – Kjell van Zoen ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2022

Negative reviews:

“Purchased solar products from this company and sent numerous requests for service by email with no response. They are unhelpful when it comes to support, especially if you have purchased from other suppliers. There are better choices for equipment suppliers with great customer service.” – Richard Rider ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2020

“The RV solar market is admittedly expensive but the pricing here is extreme. Looking at the order list for all components, I was astounded at the max retail prices and some suspicious markups — including $95 for a simple 30-amp breaker available at a hardware store for $12. Do not trust these people to give you a fair price.” – Scott Curry ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2017
