What Do Customers Say About the American Solar Corp.?

yelp.com

Positive reviews:

“American Solar (aka Pacific Green Energy) were the victims of a fraudulent telemarketing scam. They have never have and never will do any outbound calling because they don’t need to do it. They are a legitimate Bay Area family business that does almost exclusively referral-based business. They work directly with contractors and well as homeowners on large residential projects. Give them a call and give them a chance for your renewable energy business! They do great work with integrity and are conscious community members.” – Nicole D. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 4, 2020

“I had a PV solar system that was installed about 10 years ago. The panels were failing as was the the original installer. The solar panel company offered to buy back my panels and I had the opportunity to research and select a new provider. It is a very competitive field and after many interviews I selected American Solar. I was so glad that I did. They were very sensitive to my needs and extremely knowledgeable about the industry. The service was superb. They were a pleasure to work with and I would do it again in a minute. Good thing I won’t have to do anything for many years as this system is operating exactly as promised and my electrical bills are practically nothing. Can’t recommend them more highly. I give them a “”10″”.” – Susan K. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 5, 2015

Negative reviews:

“This company calls out once a week maybe twice a week on a spam call I keep telling them to take me off their spam. They don’t do it. I keep telling them I don’t need their product. So if I were you, I wouldn’t do business with a company that can’t understand. I already have solar and they keep calling. Are they going to not listen to you if you have a problem I would think so.” – Chris H. ⭐☆☆☆☆ May 12, 2025

“I get multiple calls every day and have asked repeatedly to be taken off their do not call list and all they do is hang up. When you call the corporate office in Sausalito you will never get a hold of a person all they have is voicemail. I believe this company is a scam because they will not remove you from the list and they will not answer their phones.” – David N. ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 22, 2025

Positive reviews:

“American Solar was a great environment to be in, a great company being a part of. Helping homeowners switch to solar, educating them on the different aspects and money saving abilities, American Solar gave me the open door and flexibility to accomplish that task all from the comfort of my home.” – Sales Representative ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 19, 2022

“It was a nice place to work. The management was always encouraging staffs on getting their jobs done. The co-workers were friendly and we were like families.” – Telemarketer ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ October 19, 2015

Negative reviews:

“Not great with communication – high pressure to perform. The company went out of business and never paid its employees when they closed. No room for growth” – Scheduling Coordinator ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 3, 2023

“Downward spiral in the past several years. Serious cognitive impairment. ‘circular project management’ style vs a real structure meant all loose ends just got shuffled around and landed onto the designers. I struggled for years to get a performance review. I felt incredibly unheard and unrecognized. Thinly veiled virtue signaling/ posturing by some top people.” – Designer ⭐⭐☆☆☆ August 1, 2023

Google Reviews

Positive reviews:

“I had quotes and info for adding solar panels from American Solar and Sunrun. Jason at American Solar was the most knowledgeable person on solar I’ve ever dealt with. And honest. He analyzed all my current solar and PGE usage in detail; it could be done, but he suggested I don’t add and explained how and why it would not be worth doing. Sunrun meanwhile did little analysis but strongly suggested I go ahead with their proposal. When I pointed out to them the analysis and reasoning not to by Jason, they weakly argued, then said they totally understand if it does not make sense for me. [and then sent another proposal anyway!]. The honesty from American Solar and Jason appears unusual in the solar space.” – DJ James ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 2026

“I did not use their service, however, I received a robo call going by their name and went to their website/reviews because initially I thought they were the ones who were employing robo call tactics. I easily found on their website that this is not the company that is doing this, they even have an email address in their contact us section you can send information to to report it. I appreciate this being something that was easy to find and wish their company the best in light of what I imagine is something unexpected and hard to deal with for them.” – Geoff Teeples ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2024

Negative reviews:

“I am on the national Do Not Call registry and I am getting continuous robo calls from “”Greg”” with American Solar. I have not requested information from them, I do not own the home they are soliciting for and continuing to call me over and over from various numbers is a TCPA violation. I don’t care if you use a VOIP or if you have someone from out of the country making these calls, being an American company based in the USA means that you’re required to comply with the FTC Do Not Call registry. The fact that you are not in compliance means that every time you call from a new number or text me from a new number, I WILL be making a report. I’ve read other reviews and your excuses for why this is happening do not validate it. Claiming that you never have or never will do any outbound calling/telemarketing is irrelevant since YOUR company is the one that the calls are representing. I block one number and immediately get called from another number. You and the FTC can argue it out. Enjoy the fines. Don’t bother asking me to remove the review until you make the calls stop. It’s your company, if you aren’t creating the calls, figure out who is and take the necessary steps to get this resolved. Until then, this review stands. Even in your responses of people in my situation, you STILL try to solicit business, absolutely shameful.” – Rise Barnes-Keyes ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025

“I get AT LEAST 3 to 5 calls per day, some times as early as 5:00 am from solicitors for “”American Solar””. I see that I am not alone with this complaint and the “”company”” response is exactly the same every time…it’s not us. Well company owner(2), you need to do something like contacting the FTC, FBI, etc to have action taken…this is not helping you company (if) you are even a real company!!!” – Charles Blatt ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
