What Do Customers Say About the Artisan Electric?

energysage.com

Positive reviews:

“From the initial bids, contractors arriving at our property to assess the feasibility of adding Solar, the process was seamless. We selected Artisan based on the solution they proposed with a lot of details and information about how to make the installation become a reality. Coordinators were promptly looking for an opening on their schedule and installation was completed quickly. Artisan continued to update us throughout the process of both State and Power Company final inspections. Jeff Bennett provided support from front to end of this service. We would highly recommend Artisan if you are considering the transition to Solar.” – christina.j.wallace ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 13, 2025

“I was looking for a backup power system for my house due to numerous winter power outages ranging from 4-24 hours. Because of close house spacing and small yards(noise), I decided against natural gas powered generators. As I researched solar system battery storage systems, the PowerWall 3 came out. I did not want solar panels but it had the storage and power output that would give me 24 hours of backup. The Artisan electricians were here 2 days. A lot of intricate installation work was needed. They did such a professional job. Did an excellent clean-up. Everything worked perfectly. I just did a test taking the house off-grid and it powered the house for 30 hours(spring-time). Artisan has answered all my questions and I am confident it will work great in the next winter.” – gstotler ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 28, 2024

Negative reviews:

“I would have rated Artisan very highly until our recent experience with a broken inverter. The inverter was recommended and installed by Artisan. It is made by Solar Edge and is under warranty. Since mid May 2025 we have been asking them to come out and fix the problem.Only occasionally do they return phone calls and only once sent someone to our home with no advance warning or notice and we were out of town. As the summer sunshine burns away and our electrical bill soars we are not being able to take advantage of the whole reason we installed solar.” – anderson.deborah8 ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 8, 2025

Positive reviews:

“The Artisan Electric Team was outstanding from initial consult to final installation. They completed the project ahead of schedule and left the worksite as they found it! They even brought their own Porta-potty. Our Electric bill is now next to nothing! The system worked flawlessly during two power outages!” – Glenn Space ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

“We interviewed several companies before finally deciding to get our solar roof. Some of the companies were much bigger than Artisan and it was like being sold a used car. Thomas was our Artisan sales person and he was clearly the nicest with a no pressure but very informative approach. The installation was very quick and clean. Today the sun is out and bouncing off the panels. We have been banking credits in the winter months.” – Stu Hennessey ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

Negative reviews:

“Artisan installed a system for me several years ago and were great to work with during the install, but I have to say the after care is far from acceptable after paying $50k +… I have called several times for system.Issues and have never received a call back even when they said they would. After reading the recent reviews, seems as if the company is going down hill. Hope they figure it out. For now I will be receiving system service from another local company.” – James B ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 2025

“Artisan incorrectly installed our Generac generator months ago. It drained the battery and the generator cannot start up. We were without the generator during the last power outage. We have been leaving voicemails and emails to try and schedule an appointment for the fix. Radio silence.” – Ann Batt ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 2025

Positive reviews:

“We’ve had a great experience using Atrisan for our solar installation. They were very honest with product and utility guidance. Thomas was super helpful taking us through the process from quote to our tax documents after installation. High end products at a reasonable price has made our decision to go solar totally worth it. I cannot recommend them more!” – David T. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 7, 2022

“We had Artisan install solar panels on our roof in 2014, and we were impressed at the time. Now that we’ve needed various kinds of support over the years, we recommend them even more. Most recent was summer/fall 2021 ‘removal and reinstall’ when we needed a new roof. (ugh). Really great follow-through, communication, very responsive, very careful. Glad we are working with them.” – Ruth E. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 1, 2021

Negative reviews:

“I hired Artisan Electric to install a system on my roof. I have a flat roof and was worried about potential leaks. They said it’s no problem and they could use ballast and just mount the panels to rack that are weighted down and no penetrations into the roof. That sounded awesome to me and I moved forward with getting a loan, etc. Then, the permits were denied. It turned out that my roof wasn’t design to support the load. Artisan had never let me know this may be an issue. They looked for ways around it, but I didn’t want to risk anything with my roof.I had already given a deposit and Artisan would not refund my money, stated they had incurred sales expenses, etc. I never got my money back and the only way I can is by taking them to small claims court. Not good customer service. Not good accountability for what should have been their expertise. Avoid getting into a situation like this.” – Brett W. ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 18, 2023

“You know, initially I wrote a 5-start review because as far as electric work is concerned, they were pretty good. Timely, good communication, good work, and aside from them forgetting a few little things here and there, I had nothing to complain about. But, there is one no – you should definitely not hire them if budget is a concern. I’ll explain. They came here to do two jobs, and while they were working, I asked for a quote to add an additional outlet, along the same path where they were already installing one. On their end, this would’ve required just another wire, another breaker, and based on their other job, about 10 minutes of dinking around. They quoted me either 200 or 300 bucks for this, and just out of principle I said no because 300 bucks for 10 minutes for an electrician isn’t going to happen. Day light robbery. Now, a few years later, every single time I need an additional outlet where I don’t have one, I remember Artisanal Electric, and every single time not with the best thoughts. If you have money to throw around, I am sure they’d do a fabulous job, but if you don’t, be mindful.” – Magnus V. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ November 28, 2018

Positive reviews:

“We contacted Artisan and the sales/project manager showed up with a whole portfolio about how our house, with its roof angle and the trees around etc., would do with solar panels. He also helped us understand the complicated financing (with the rebates and the netmetering etc.) and helped us identify lenders for the project. The installation date was moved around a few times because of the availability of the hardware and the availability of the staff. This made it difficult at times because you have to be home when they need to get in the house. But the installers were super friendly and efficient, and the work was done well (it seems). It’s a really loud process! There was also some technical trouble with the energy monitor that they installed, but with the installer and my husband and I all three working on it we figured it out. We needed to get a knob-and-tube wire replaced during the process and Artisan did an awesome job with the subcontracting. And now we have solar panels that will hopefully produce at least 90% of our home energy needs, and it will be paid off in less than 6 years because of the incentives. One of the best things about Artisan is that the sales manager is also the project manager, so there are fewer miscommunications and better-aligned expectations. Another great thing is that, if you hear about them through a personal connection, both the referrer and the referree get a rebate! Very cool. Overall we are super happy.” – Jennifer D. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 2015

“In the initial communications with Evan, from Artisan Electric, I had a sense of a company who were experienced and very knowledgeable regarding their line of work. We had many questions, including about current financial incentives, and he answered them all. There were some lags in email responses at the outset but not enough to keep us from working with them. We also spoke with another solar business, whose quote was cheaper, but did not get a good sense from them about their knowledge and team cohesiveness. Artisan Electric are not the cheapest and for the big system we were installing it gave us pause. Ultimately we chose Artisan Electric for the professionalism and expertise; we remain happy with that choice. The only negatives I have about the work is around the site cleanup–there are red marks on our rear patio from something they used to make marks on the roof and the skylights are covered in a layer of dirt/dust. The installers told me the red marks on the patio are from red chalk they used on the roof and one of the installers hosed our patio down to remove the red chalk but those marks remain. I am yet to try scrubbing or power washing it out. It would have been great to have had these items taken care of. Overall, a quality company that I would recommend.” – Sofia C. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 2016

Positive reviews:

“Making the decision to add a solar installation to my residence was a daunting challenge. So many details, so many issues that can go wrong. I vetted six different contractors. I had very specific design criteria. I wanted the solar panels to be mounted in a way that they wouldn’t be easily seen from the ground; I wanted the storage batteries to be installed in my basement utility room; and I wanted two systems, one to provide electricity for the house, the other for the heat pump – independent of each other; finally, I wanted to integrate this with my propane powered generator. I placed the high level of importance on quality of work, and aesthetics. Finally, I wanted to make certain I was receiving a reasonable bang for my buck, as there seems to be too many less than honest/competent operators in this field. I chose Artisan Electric for my project, and I was very pleased with the outcome. They are locally based electrical contractors that were willing to work with me and address the areas that I felt were important. They showed good commitment to their work, the installation is professional, looks good, and they did a good job cleaning up When they were finished. I would highly recommend Artisan Electric to anybody who’s considering adding solar to their business or residence.” – Thunder Bolt ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

“We had solar panels installed on our roof in July, and I have nothing but praise for Artisan Electric & Solar. First, Tom came out with a drone that he flew over our house to take photos so the placement of the panels could be designed. There are panels on the south side and east side (back) of our house – see photos. The installation took 2 days, and the crew was excellent! Professional, neat, quiet, efficient. My neighbors were impressed with their work. They were on my roof during the 2 hottest days of the summer and did not complain! (I got them extra water and Gatorade.) The electrical work was done well and safely – and it all passed inspection with Seattle City Light, no problem. We did have a little connection problem that Artisan responded to immediately, trouble-shooted, and we were back in business. I love the Tesla App where I can see how much energy the panels are generating, how much is being used by my house and how much is going back to the city. What a thrill! It’s fun to watch the electrical meter run backwards! And the Tesla Inverter on the side of our house is not an eye-sore at all. (See photo.) Thanks Artisan!” – MJ McDermott ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

“Had them out for a free solar assessment, was not a fan of the high pressure sales tactics, pushing the tax credit potentially going away at the end of the year and urging that I sign before September 1. Their pricing seemed fair compared to the other quotes I received, but ultimately went with A&R due to their professionalism and educational approach.” – Travis Mac ⭐⭐☆☆☆ September 2025
