What Do Customers Say About the Baker Electric?
Positive reviews:
“I was looking for another company when Sullivan stopped doing business (and my home battery was in hibernation). I reached out to Baker and over the next 4-6 weeks, they made this happen and took my battery out of hibernation. That may seem like a long time, but they communicated up front that they were very busy helping a number of former Sullivan customers, and they executed step-wise with the necessary documents, etc. I don’t have any experience with Baker installing or repairing my system but should I notice that my system isn’t performing, I’m confident that I can call on them.” – Rick ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 14, 2022
“We had our panels installed on a Monday and had City inspections by Thursday. We had PTO from SDGE that same day! We also required roof repair and the Sequoia team is the best ! Communication with Baker is top notch, we will only recommend them to family and friends.” – Mike Isaacson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 8, 2021
Negative reviews:
“I signed a contract with Baker Electric in July, and gave them a deposit. Since that time, they have done no work. It has been 4 months. They have sent incorrect permit applications to the city several times. Even after the city contacted them to correct their mistakes, Baker Electric did not correct the permit application until I checked with the city. They don’t seem to care to check their work or if the project is moving. I spoke to Brian Gaeta who convinced me that Baker Electric had experience and would complete the project when other companies would keep me waiting. Instead, Baker Electric has done absolutely no work in four months. I’m very disappointed. I should have chosen another company.” – CC ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 17, 2021
“Baker mentions that they have a monitoring of your system through SolarEdge. Baker Electric does not do any monitoring. If your system goes down for 6 months and you do not know it, they will not inform you and will not reimburse you any of the $$$ SDG&E would buy back. I had a 3K electric bill after two years of bills being $140. I had believed they were monitoring my system. They would not do anything about it but paste their contractual agreement.” – tkthompson ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 20, 2020
Positive reviews:
“Great boss and company to work for in Lubbock, Texas. The owners are really good people and take care of their employees. They taught me a lot on the job.” – Journeyman Electrician ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 4, 2022
“All the times I work with baker it all depends on which supervisor you are working under . But for the most part the company will take good care of u aslong as you put in 120% quality work .” – Heavy Equipment Operator ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 15, 2020
Negative reviews:
“Working in the warehouse was a good experience and being a driver was great. however the management is terrible. The director of warehousing likes to hire people from his church at higher rates than others and promotes them into leadership positions while people he been there longer get passed up. Horrible leadership and no one in HR or senior leadership does anything about it .” – Driver ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 13, 2023
“Never got 40 hours not once only work they have is giving free tune up to past solar customers and was told to sell stuff give 5 estimates selling things people don’t kneed is not what I want to do with my life no longer working for baker can not say anything good about them, baker is a union electric company there Air condition business in non union.” – Lead HVAC Technician ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 10, 2019
Positive reviews:
“We have used Baker for roofing/solar/AC & heating/electric car charger installation, and upgrading our electrical panel. Recently one of our AC unit’s pumps burned out so Charles came out today to fix it. Like all of the employees we’ve dealt with at Baker, he was professional, friendly, super nice, and efficient.” – Traci Barker-Ball ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025
“It is all about the service!!! In 2020 we went with Baker for a complete solar system because of their name and longevity in business. Overall we were very happy with the process and installation. With the 2023 rains, we noticed roof leaks and damages related to the solar installation that we needed fixed. With horror stories from all of the other solar installers past and present, we were worried about our own repairs. We made a claim with Baker, and they came out to make an assessment and made all of the needed repairs. They did a wonderful job with the install and the service afterwards. I cannot say enough. Nothing is every perfect, but with the way that Baker stood by their work and honored their roof guarantee, I would recommend them to every one. Thank you to our repair crew: Foreman, Alfredo Luviano and his crew: Joe Andrade, Luiz Hernandez, Eduardo Reves.” – Janos Taller ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2024
Negative reviews:
“I purchased an expensive HVAC system from Baker Electric and constantly had their technicians come out and attempt to fix the system. The wall thermostat doesn’t read accurately and their head technician just told me it does from his office in Escondido. It constantly reads high from the temperature readings of other sophisticated measuring devices. He basically gave me a tough luck attitude, so I’m done with Baker Electric. Sad ending and my wife keeps telling me we should have stayed with our original system, only adding salt to the wounds.” – Joseph McGoldrick ⭐☆☆☆☆ June 2025
“Even though Baker Electric was a bit more expensive I went with them because I heard they have great service. It’s frustrating not being able to have basic customer service handled when I have what I think is a fairly simple question and request. Unbeknownst to me, our panels haven’t been producing electricity for about 6 weeks and when I got my last power bill – $800 I was shocked. All I need is help linking my Solaredge app to the inverter and just to get a tech to call me back is 10 days! Well that’s not great service! Hire more techs as every day I have to wait it’s an unreasonable expense. Come on Baker Electric – can I get some timely help!!!!” – Mike Privett ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2024
Summarizing:
Do We Recommend Baker Electric Services?
Average Performer
Baker Electric gets the Average Performer badge and works in 1 state, but their third-party ratings don’t go above 4. Local community trust isn’t their strong suit either – their score is 3.9 in our evaluation. This badge means they are somehow reliable, but you need to pay more attention to what they have to offer. While Baker Electric may not lead the pack, they are certainly recognized for their capacity to meet a broad range of solar installation needs with commendable customer satisfaction. When considering this solar installer, you can add Baker Electric to your list as a lower priority and one that requires additional research before you decide to work with them.
