“This was not an easy decision, as it is quite an investment. Jim from Bright Eye explains the benefits and process very well, and put me at ease with my decision. He was always there throughout the process, and afterwards, to answer any questions I had. It’s been about 10 months now, and my electric bills are half what they used to be. “This review is for installation and process only, I have yet to experience the system itself due to lengthy delays. Bright Eye honestly has been a nightmare. I have never dealt with a company so unresponsive and unprofessional. Yvette Turner who is the point of contact there is THEE MOST unprofessional representative I have ever dealt with. I have no idea how that person still has a job at Bright Eye. For the amount of money we spent on this system, if it wasn’t already installed on my roof, I would have canceled my contract with them. The owner of the company is a nice guy and has been working out the major issues we came across however, when it comes to trying to get ahold of some one when needed no one answers emails or the phone with urgency. This company also operates out of PA and serves Maryland however, if you live in Frederick the electrical permits required are different than most Counties/States so be prepared for a lengthy delayed process in permitting. “Jim and his team were great. I talked to a number of solar companies before deciding on Bright Eye Solar. Well I am not disapointed. Jim was upfront about everything. He told me about the 30% tax credit and said you may not get it all it depends on how much tax you pay. He explained the difference between owning and leasing. Answered ever question. He showed me what the house will look like with the pannel on line before ever comming out. His estimate was right on. We have a 13.2 kwp system. We could have had 10 more pannels or so from what other companies showed us online. Jim said they would not get the sun they need he was right. I have been watching the shade in the back of my house and the roof dosen’t get the sun all day just a couple hours. Other companies had pannels there in their estimates. Jim also got us the financing we need. So no more electric bill just the loan wich is less and will never go up. Jim’s team did great work our house looks good. “Bright Eye got my 10 year old solar array working at its full potential and installed a new solar array at my property at the end of last year. My first 2 monthly Met Ed bills were $10 each. When all of the PUC agreements and approvals cleared in the third month I had a $150 credit on my Met Ed bill. “The worst contractor I have worked with. I wanted an off grid hybrid system and was accepting of a very high price to get it. From the start the work was a s— show. Poor workmanship and many people but little communication. Finally, I asked questions of the interaction between my generator and the solar and they had no answer, as if they had not thought thru the product. Their answer was “we will do it as a grid tie”, and gave a meaningless small refund. The system is not at all what I had contracted, and the refund was so small it made a rediculously high grid tie cost, with a 40 year payback on the system.
