We have their Signature Plan maintenance program for these two locations. On an annual routine maintenance for our rental property A/C unit. There was some question about a possible system leak of refrigerant. Nick performed an extensive series of leak tests and found none leaks. He did what we’ve come to expect from Brower, i.e. be honest on the performance of our HVAC and don’t try to upsell us on expensive repairs or replacement until it is truly necessary. “The technician, Thomas, who did our air conditioning maintenance inspection today was outstanding. He was very thorough in explaining the results of his assessment and he noticed that somehow some of the insulation in our attic had been disturbed and was not protecting those areas. “Update: Brower brought a technician out to discuss my issues (see photographs on original report) and after the installation failed to pass code initially. The second stage which wasn’t firing looked better and quieter and was working thanks to the second technician Sean. Despite Sean’s efforts, I’m not confident in the overall work and may seek a second opinion. We have not heard back to verify if this passed code the 2nd time, so I will call the city. “Service call for LG unit installed in 2017. Brower no longer services these units, The technician, Mark, did not put furniture he had to move back, didn’t know much about the unit. couldn’t complete the service call and now the unit is not functioning. “I worked with Mark Ross, the sales manager. I think I must have done more research and asked him more questions than most people do. He was very patient and not in the least condescending. I had one company that would not schedule an appointment unless my husband agreed to be present. Needless to say, they didn’t get a call back. Everyone was on time and professional. The job took nearly two full days and they provided space heaters though we didn’t need them. Only problem was a small sticky spot (black tape) on the carpet in front of the air handler door which came out with Goof Off. I called the three references they gave me and they were all very happy with their units and the installation/installers. So are we! The price was higher than other units, but we bought the best unit for the money and, I’m confident we won’t have any problems for many years. “From start to finish the job went smoothly. Mark Ross was the sales manager who came out to give us a bid. He was very courteous, actually showed up earlier than expected, and instead of just ringing the doorbell he called to inform us that he was in the area but wouldn’t intrude if we weren’t ready for him. He explained some of the technical terms regarding heating and air (such as the meaning of the SEER rating and explained that we shouldn’t focus on getting the highest SEER rating model if our usage didn’t warrant it. His practical approach struck an honest chord and we were pleasantly surprised when his bid came in the lowest out of 6 contractors. When the actual time of installation came close the company called us ahead of time to let us know that they needed an extra day to get some parts for extending the new unit. I was told the first year would be included in the 16K contract price, but apparently, that was an empty promise. I am deeply disappointed. I had hoped to keep Brower Mechanical on as my “”go to”” HVAC company. As a matter of principle this simply isn’t an option. My advice, make sure you get all promises in writing. “Would not recommend this company. Had two different Brower technicians come out to investigate why my AC was not working. Both told me something completely different and one even suggested getting my furnace replaced for $10K, tried hooking me up with a payment plan on the spot. Didn’t have a good feeling about them so thankfully got a second opinion and turns out nothing was wrong with my furnace and most the parts that were repaired with the second company I chose weren’t even recommended by the Brower mechanics.
