CBS Solar review

CBS Solar gets the Average Performer badge and works in 1 state, but their third-party ratings don't go above 4. Local community trust isn't their strong suit either - their score is 4.0 in our evaluation. This badge means they are somehow reliable, but you need to pay more attention to what they have to offer. While CBS Solar may not lead the pack, they are certainly recognized for their capacity to meet a broad range of solar installation needs with commendable customer satisfaction. When considering this solar installer, you can add CBS Solar to your list as a lower priority and one that requires additional research before you decide to work with them.

What Do Customers Say About the CBS Solar?

solarreviews.com

Positive reviews:

“We were fortunate to find these folks early in our search for a residential solar array. The Michigan connection was certainly a plus. Allan, Devon, Aaron, Pam, Tyson, and Lynda have been a pleasure to work with. They have been punctual, returned our calls quickly, and answered our questions and concerns. Installation went smoothly even though it was in middle of some of the worst days of this last winter. We have and will continue to recommend Contractors Building Supply Inc. to our family and friends.” – Sunnyday ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 13, 2014

“Alan and son, Devon O`Shea were wonderful to work with and a great help in designing our solar installations. The work was well done and communication during the process was regular and timely. I feel lucky to have found such good professional people to have done our work. I intend to have them back to expand our system next year.” – Anonymous ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 8, 2008

Positive reviews:

“Devon and CBS solar installed a 9.4kW system with 2x powerwall 3’s for us on a new build this past October. They were great to have on the project! The install is immaculate, and very clean with every detail taken care of. Even over the winter we’ve been producing good amount of solar while construction wraps up. We will definitely be using them in the future when we add some more panels to the array. When completed they also helped us get the paperwork done to start producing power, charging from the grid, and sending excess back into the grid. They also got us all of our paperwork for taking care of our tax rebates, warranty and everything else that we needed. Thanks so much to the whole team!” – Mike Reid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

“CBS Solar certainly earned their money on my job. My township reversed course on their approval of our original design, discovering an obscure ordinance they’d previously overlooked. This required a re-design of the project. This fact plus the hours and hours required to seek regulatory approval from the utility provider makes me marvel at their capacity for just plowing ahead efficiently with what needs to be done on the approval side. Ultimately, we designed a “hybrid” system with panels on the roof and on the ground. The ground units are “trackers” that, like sunflowers, tilt to follow the direction of the sun. These trackers have proved to provide even more electricity than originally estimated (and in my opinion look super cool). Charging my electric car for free, turning down the temp on the air conditioning with zero guilt–priceless. Their communication during the installation was excellent. Their communication and support afterwards has also been wonderful. I can’t recommend the company highly enough.” – Glen MacPherson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2024

Negative reviews:

“I’ve never had any associations with this company other than one of their guys in their company truck driving by our landscaping company in Beulah(1pm on a Saturday)yelling his unwanted advice out the window about our equipment being too big for the area. Extremely unprofessional.” – Mitchell Webb ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025

“Had a good conversation with the salesperson. Then when I followed up, CBS ghosted me. Now I’m scrambling to try to get in elsewhere before the tax credit goes away.” – Stephen Williams ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
