City Renewables review

Positive reviews:

“When we were shopping for a Solar provider we were overwhelmed by the choices, but Ben proved to be the perfect advisor and advocate for us. We requested quotes from four different companies and Ben was able to get us the highest capacity system, with the best performance, at the best price, And the permitting and installation process went smoothy as well. We could not be happier. Our system has been operating flawlessly for over a year now and we have not had an electric bill since it went on line. And as an added bonus, we have SREC credit payments showing up in our bank account on a regular basis! Highest recommendations for Ben and City Renewables!” – Kurt G. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ September 30, 2024

“Ben cares, hard to find an owner these days that cares about the results and the employees he works with carry that same characteristic. Wonderful company!” – Frank D. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 27, 2026

Negative reviews:

“I set up a phone call to discuss a possible solar installation. On the day of the scheduled call (10 minutes before the scheduled call) I received an email asking for my phone number, which I provided. No one ever called.” – Aaron ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 18, 2025

“Missed appointment time. Wasted my time. Did not seem very knowledgeable about SRECS and rebate opportunities or payoff period or installation problems on slate roof.” – Jim W. ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 1, 2024

Positive reviews:

“Working with Ben and the crew at City Renewables to put solar panels on our property in DC was a pleasure. Super responsive, simple to work with and handled everything professionally from start to end. Ben’s a terrific guy to have run the entire process. So happy we got solar with City Renewables.” – Matt Finnegan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 2026

“The team at City Renewables is very help hepful and easy to deal with. They designed the solar solution for my house with ease and worked around a few build challenges. They are available and willing to explain and find solutions.” – Stephane Muszynski ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

Negative reviews:

“City Renewables was easy to work with during the installation of our solar panels, but we have had repeated intermittent problems with one of the arrays they installed. I find them to be slow and not very responsive when I contact them to have them come check it out what the problem is and fix what is not working properly. If I had it to do over again, I would use a different company.” – Peter Beckerman ⭐⭐☆☆☆ 2025

“The team is super friendly and committed to solar. However, you still need to educate yourself before moving forward on every aspect of solar. You really need to commit to solar for environmental reasons over economic reason, regardless what any sales person will tell you. It took an entire year of having a solar system, seeing the entire process played out with Pepco, how the weather impacts productions, and selling SRECS. A lot of questions I had were answered in a way to close the deal in a manner that benefited Ben and the team more than anyone. In the end, I think City Renewables is the best option in DC for solar based on other companies that I had spoken with. Don’t think they would have come close to the customer service Ben and his team provided.” – Vegan Pete ⭐⭐☆☆☆ 2024
