This weekend, I discovered my storage battery was not charging properly (of course, these things always happen on the weekend, right?). Even though I knew the office was closed, I sent an email to the service manager, Khi, so he would see it first thing Monday morning. To my surprise, I received an email back that day saying he would have a technician out as soon as possible on Monday. At 8:05 a.m. on Monday, Cosmic Service Tech Javier was at my door. “Cosmic Solar installed two FranklinWH aPower 2 backup batteries on my home. Their price was the best of the three installers I contacted. The entire process went smoothly and much faster than I had expected. The batteries were up and running in less than 8 weeks from the day I first requested a quote over the phone! “I hope that this is my last update to my review of Cosmic Solar. I am upgrading them to 2 stars. It appears that they have FINALLY fixed our system. I might have given them 3 stars if Pey had not lied about me calling their office to curse at the staff. I cursed a blue streak at whoever called ME in the evening. I think it was Pey himself, and I had repeatedly told him not to call, as I wanted all communications documented. It appears that Pey is throwing his vendor under the bus. Remember, this is HIS vendor. And when he is giving you a sales pitch, will tell you that they are the best that there is. “When shopping for a solar system we received bids from several companies, with Cosmic Solar providing the optimum system at the best price. They were very timely with regard to permits and scheduling. The only snag ended up being the approval from our HOA, which took a bit longer than expected. Once installation started, it was full speed ahead. Our 30-year old roof needed several repairs to meet all the installation requirements. This was efficiently and reasonably ($) handled by Alfredo’s Roofing, who does a lot of work for Cosmic Solar. “Recently one of solar inverters started displaying an error code and quit working. I made 5 calls in 3 weeks trying to get them out here for warranty service with no response from their technical lead Kai. Finally a friend intervened and I set up an appt. They ghosted and never showed. I called them then they sent a tech to the wrong address which is one reason I always ask for a 30min call ahead on service calls. Finally they showed next day and worked on system and replaced a connector. Problem still exists and once again they are not responding to calls for warranty service. “We cannot thank Cosmic Solar enough. We applied to get solar in the last 6 months of the 30% credit in 2025. They were super busy but we couldn’t tell. Thier customer service is amazing. From starting our project with Jose and Pey, to the crew who installed our panels, to our technician Johnny who hooked up our battery, and even the office manager Mary and the scheduler Ashley everyone was so nice and guided us through the project from start to finish. If Ashley or Mary told us that the installation crew was going to be there at 7:45am then I knew they would be at my door greeting me and introducing themselves at 7:45am. They were so easy to work with and we knew exact what to expect and when. They also did all the permits with the city and sdg&e. Everything ran seemlessly. They made the whole process so easy for me, I was able to continue my business from home without a hitch. Thank you Cosmic Solar! “I had a terrible experience with Cosmic Solar. Do not use these guys. They come out and give you a system quote for $49,000 and then, when they send you the actual contracts to sign, the system price goes up to $55,000. Larry was the person who did this. Nice guy, but clearly a bait and switch. What a ripoff company. Plus it wastes an enormous amount of time. Not ethical at all. Good luck to you in your search for a great solar panel company, but this is not the great company I had hoped it would be. The owner’s reply is also incorrect. For the exact same interest rate, my cost went up $5000. Not a different rate and they didn’t even mention the increase until I called them out on it. They are trying yet again to explain their way out of it. I never opted for a cash proposal and I have the proposal to prove it.
