“Dickson Electric was not the first company I called, most don’t answer the phone. But they WERE the first company to get back to me. Liz was delightful to work with and very communicative. George was the electrician that came out to our house, exactly on time, and repaired our burnt out outlet and restored electricity (and sanity) to our home. George was wonderful, very professional and fast! He was in and out in under 30 minutes. And the rates are reasonable. “I considered my project to be rather complex consisting of 2 and a half story building with an apartment on the top floor, 2 stall garage on the main floor, and single garage along with a wine cellar/canning room on the bottom floor. Wiring required a 200 amp main panel for the main floor, feeding a smaller remote panel for each of the 2 other floors. The Building has solar panels and mini-splits heat and cooling units for each floor. Dixon was very flexible due to time and money constraints but completed each task on time much to my satisfaction. Vadim was a great source of knowledge regarding all aspects of my project. “We recently had a large project completed by Dickson Electric and couldn’t have been happier with the interactions with the company. Initially I had them out to diagnose and repair a short circuiting outlet in our kitchen- when they were at the house, they discovered a water leak in our main electrical panel, so did a repair to prevent further damages. We elected to have them back out to replace the panel and run new electrical to a storage shed in the yard. The Dickson Electric team did a fantastic job listening to our needs and did all the heavy lifting of coordinating with different providers including PUD, inspectors and a roofer to finish the patch job. “We recently had Dickson Electric provide a quote for installing a circuit to our new shed, which required trenching to bury the conduit. The quote process was quick and straightforward, which initially left us feeling confident in the referral. However, the service that followed was a nightmare. During the installation, the two employees from Dickson Electric broke our sewer line. Unfortunately, they failed to notify us of the damage, continuing their work as if nothing happened. It wasn’t until they left for the day that we noticed water pooling in the trench and realized something was wrong. We tried to contact them about the matter but they were dismissive and made it feel like we were a nuisance to them yet it was they who caused the damage. To make things worse, they tried to transfer the expense of the repair onto us. Luckily our contractor was doing some other work on the property and was willing to take on a bill that Dickson was trying to stick us with. But after more talks with Dickson Electric, they finally decided to accept responsibility for their error. Although this was the proper thing to do, we should never have had to push back in the first place. Also, the only reason why they decided to cover it was so that the burden didn’t fall on our contractor. If you truly value your customers, you should own up to mistakes without hesitation, instead of asking them to bear the burden of your mistakes. Also, I’d hope that employees feel empowered enough to own their mistakes and speak up when they know something is wrong.
