Positive reviews:

“I just had solar panels installed by DIY Solar Company and I am extremely happy with them. The crew was professional and knowledgable, and made the process easy and hassle free. The installation was fast and the staff was courteous of my property. The panels look excellent and have been effective in reducing my energy expenditures. It’s great to do something good for the environment and save some money at the same time. Highly recommend DIY Solar Company for anyone in Plymouth looking to switch to solar.” – Lisakeohan795 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 9, 2023

“There’s nothing better than a promise made and keep. Matt and his team completed a 10k /battery backup Generac system That is kicking it. Mat and his team keep all promises and installed the final stage of the system that replaced a 13-year-old 5.6 kw that went bad on me. He provided advice and assurances of what was proposed. I can’t be more pleased as of this date. If you’re thinking of solar give him a shout. Well worth your while. He’ll be my go-to guy in the future for other projects. Thank you, Matt/Victor. Positive reviews:

“this company saved the day! they responded on the same day our solar stopped working and the company that installed our system went out of business. DIY Solar Company electrician (Jean) inspected our solar panels and made some recommendations to make the system more efficient.my wife and I thought our system needed a full replacement but Jean assured me it was the inverter and a few wires up top that were improperly repaired. The company showed us pictures, and even had an inverter on site to make the switch today. I reached out to a bunch of other local companies that made the booking process more challenging and uncertain- DIY answered the call, was transparent on price options and helped us get repaired on the same day. I get The feeling these guys will be our go to company moving forward. thank you all very much” – Herman J. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 16, 2024

“Had a complex problem with an existing system installed by some other company. I called Matt (DIY Solar) and he respnded very quickly and was sypothetic to the issues I was having. He worked with Solaredge and got a new inverter at no cost and replaced it at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend this company. The workers are highly skilled and DIY Solar is a user friendly company” – Jack H. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 12, 2024

Negative reviews:

“Unfortunately this company has ghosted me. The communication device added didn’t work. They promised to return and replace the device but never did. They started strong replacing my inverter but ended poorly.” – Barry R. ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 2, 2024

“I give one star because the system won’t let me give zero stars. I bought a system and installation from DIY Solar about a year and a half ago. At the time, Matt Ciocchi assured me that he was going to make sure we were very happy with our system as long as we owned it. In the first six months we had a couple issues and Matt dealt with them pretty well. In late August of 24 the system went down. Matt diagnosed it over the phone and that was the last I heard of him. He did not take my calls or respond to emails. I ended up having to contract another company to fix, at a premium that Matt assured me I would never have to pay. The system was down over a month. I only hope through writing this review that I spare someone the expense and headaches of working with Matt Ciocchi and DIY Solar.” – Brian M. ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 17, 2024

Positive reviews:

“I can’t say enough about DIY Solar. I had a complex issue with an existing solar panel system and Matt was eager to help. DIY Solar sent a master electrician out and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem. Made several calls to Matt and he answered the phone every time or called me back within 10 minutes. I know from experience there are many solar installers out there that are here today and gone tomorrow. I give a strong reccomendation to DYI Solar. Very user friendly and highly professional. These are people you can count on.” – John H. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 30, 2024

“I can’t say enough about the great experience I had with Matt’s crew for my solar setup! I started looking for bigger organizations and found Matt’s team and never looked back.” Matt’s one-on-one service and passion to finding me the best offer really won me over. His 25-year production guarantee made me feel good about my selection. Matt’s staff was there every step of the way answering questions smoothing out difficulties despite some setbacks with my electric provider. Now my panels look absolutely wonderful and I’m over the moon that I chose to go solar with Matt’s crew. If you’re thinking about solar, give Matt a call – you won’t be sorry!” – Lindsey D. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 8, 2024

Positive reviews:

“I called DIY Solar for an issue I was having with an existing system installed by a different company. Matt was quick to respond and seemed to take a personal interest. He immediately got his electrician out and resolved a complex problem. Matt answered the phone every time I called or called me back withih 10 minutes. DIY Solar is a very user friendly company and I would highly reccomend them. Five stars is not enough!” – Hannah ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2024

“Matt Was extremely helpful in getting solar edge to agree to abide by the #Warranty. Matt is extremely professional, polite, honest and will fight for you and your solar needs. He knows the process extremely well and will help you navigate through the process. I cannot speak enough of this young man and am extremely grateful for his hard work.” – James McGahan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

Negative reviews:

“Matt is a very smart and nice man. But he’s all talk. He said to us at the pitch meeting that he wanted to get the system installed before our next electric bill, I told him it was impossible. It took him about 6 months to finish the project. Matt is not an installer, he’s a general contractor that subs all the work out. He is at the mercy of his subcontractors, so it’s hard for him to guarantee a schedule. The roofer he hired replaced double the amount of shingles than was actually needed. But it was after me telling him I was only paying half the cost, that he agreed. The tree contractor wanted to be paid upfront but Matt didn’t have money to pay him (we financed it through his finance company). So Matt made us pay Diy with a credit card so he could cut a check to the tree guy. It was at the end of the project that we realized a different company was actually the main contractor that was dealing with the bank They were totally unaware of the credit card transaction we made and that we were still owed money back for paying the tree contractor. That electrical contractor made us whole, but they said they were never going to work with DIY again. I don’t know who he has doing his installs now, but make sure he tells you upfront who all the subcontractors are.” – Tim Reid ⭐⭐☆☆☆ 2024
