“I spent several months researching solar companies and I will be the first to say there is a ton of misinformation out there. Thank goodness there are people like Cal and his crew. After months of talking to sleazy salesmen, who were only out to maximize their own profits, speaking with Cal was a breath of fresh air. He and his son Reese were down to earth. They weren’t trying to “”sell”” me. They answered my questions honestly, and even made recommendations that made sense. I already had done my research and knew what size system I wanted, but they were able to tweak things to maximize production. His team installed my system a year ago. Once all the permits got approved, they were quick and efficient. My system was done in less than a day, and up and running only a couple days later. Cal and his team handled all the red tape and approvals. One year later, my system has outperformed my expectations and I have saved nearly $1,200 in electricity costs already. With energy prices going up, I’m sure it will pay for itself much faster than I estimated too. If you are considering solar, give Cal and Reese a call. “Isn’t it so true that when you meet someone that tells you how honest they are, are the very ones that lie to you the most. When I meet Cal Morton of EasTex solar, he told me repeatedly how honest he was and especially so with his business…. When you negotiate with Cal for solar, he will give you fancy pamphlet loaded with figures and calculations. One such figure was that if I bought this much solar, I would realize a 55% reduction in my electric bills. I have had my system in place now for just over 6 months and my average reduction in bill has been 2%, a far cry for the 55% promised and at virtually the same usage. Lie #1… After a few months of no reduction in my bills, I asked Cal to investigate. He claimed that the problem lied with my electric provider and to prove it, he would install a magnet device that would clamp onto and attach around the meter, we could then measure my electricity generated vs consumed. This magnet was never delivered nor installed despite several phone calls from me. Lie #2… Cal continued to claim that the problem was with the billing by my electric provider and that he would write me a letter detailing this. Again, despite several phone calls, I never got any letter from Cal Morton. “Highly recommended! All questions were answered quickly and thoroughly from design through installation. Very honest and upfront with strengths and limitations of systems. Very friendly and knowledgeable, too. In our search for a solar company, we’d deal with companies who took their time answering questions (if they answered them at all), sell inferior systems for large sums or would want a hard credit check before they’d even look at the exposure or roof. All of these were deal breakers for the other companies. In contrast, Cal took the time and looked at our roof, made further design adjustments, all before we even signed anything.
