What Do Customers Say About the Foster Electric?

yelp.com

Positive reviews:

“We needed some electric work performed on a house we just purchased. Not knowing the area, we contacted the company that had performed service for the prior owner. Zach Scott from Foster Electric arrived at our address on time, and quickly had our issue resolved. Zach also took the time to clearly explain what he was doing, and what was required to fix our issue. Undoubtedly, this is the company we will call for any future issues or additions we might need. 5 stars to Zach Scott & Foster Electric.” – Ed D. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 31, 2020

“I’ve been using Foster Electric since around 2015, and every single interaction has been fantastic. They do great work and are willing to explain what they’re doing. They’ve added outlets, dimming light switches, and worked on the panels in a rental property. More recently we did a major upgrade to the electrical in our new-to-us 1965 home. It was a mess–no grounded outlets, rats’ nests of wires, wall outlets behind the TV, the too few outlets (like one in the entire kitchen), two electrical panels, etc.). Steven and Cole did most of the work and were awesome, but it became such a large job, that there once was 5 vans sitting in my driveway during this long-3-ish day job. It went “”a little”” over the estimated budget, but this something missed on their end, and the owner, Ted, didn’t put those costs onto us. We greatly appreciated that and will, of course, be using Foster for out next project(s).” – Rik H. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 24, 2021

Negative reviews:

“The low rating is not about quality of work. My issue is that I was lied to by Chris, the guy who did the estimation. He explained that I needed hardwired smoke detectors in every room. I said that I had already purchased smoke detectors. He told me they had to be hardwired per Catoosa County code. So I complied. Then, when the county inspector came by to inspect the work, he said hardwired detectors were not required. And that he had talked to this company about this before. So, in my opinion, this company does this to increase sales. I have tried to resolve the issue through the company.” – Dale C. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ March 21, 2025

Positive reviews:

“Brice and Ethan did a wonderful job, we are so pleased. The two young men were very professional and knowledgeable. High highly recommend this company. I will definitely call then for any future electrical needs I might have. I also felt they were reasonably priced.” – Mary G. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 2022

“Aaron at Foster Electric did a great job. His expertise and professionalism resulted in prompt issue resolution. I will use Foster Electric for all future electrical needs because of the quality of work, the competitive pricing, promptness and the courtesy shown from our initial call to Foster Electric to job completion. Excellent service!” – Michelle C. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 2022

Negative reviews:

“I booked Foster Electric of Chattanooga on 10/04/24 to install dimmer switches and mount my big-screen TVs on the wall on 10/19/24. I paid a 50% deposit ($500+) a couple of weeks ago for them to come out on 10/19/24, but they were a no-call, no-show.” – Richard A. ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 2024

“So, I gave this a “C” rating so that people would read this review. I had a light flutter and go out in the kitchen which immediately took 4 more lights with it, so I assumed an electrical problem. I called Foster Electric, they were punctual and courteous. They told me some heat protector mechanism in the can lights had burned out and I should replace all 8, (for a total of just over $800) since more would go. Seemed reasonable. I set up a date. The next weekend my Dad came up, and tested the lights, It was just dead bulbs. He replaced the bulbs for $60 from Home Depot, and was even sweet enough to put in a dimmer switch. This really bothered me. I called Foster to cancel the appointment, told them what happened, and they promptly charged me $50 as a cancellation fee. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. If they hadn’t charged me for being nice enough to cancel, I wouldn’t have written his review, but HONESTLY. Please use someone else.” – Noel B. ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ December 2018

Positive reviews:

“We have worked with Foster for almost 2 years now. They are amazing, The company uses them and I use them personally as well. Everyone form Mary in the office, to the tech in the field are amazing to work with. Thank you for all the hard work you do, and for making surer my customers are always happy.” – James Derry ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 2026

“Eli did a great job. Very polite and professional young man. An underground wire leading to light posts in my driveway had been accidentally cut during some work I was having done in my yard. He was able to find the cut wire and replace/fix it all in a few hours and lights are back on now!” – Jon Mattheiss ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 2025

Negative reviews:

“The invoice requested a review, so here you go. Be careful when using this company. I am a senior citizen in St. Elmo and called Foster Electric to change a lightbulb in my home because my ceiling is higher than any ladder I own. The technician (Steven) did the job in only a few minutes, but I was charged an additional $85 on top of the initial service fees. I was surprised and disappointed that changing a lightbulb ended up costing me nearly $200. When I questioned the amount, the technician shrugged and said that’s what it costs to come out. The lightbulb works fine, but I sure won’t be calling Foster Electric again when it goes out. Regarding Foster Electric’s response, I’m unclear which calculation they’re referencing, as there were multiple charges totaling far more than $29. My frustration is that what I believed would be a reasonable fee somehow increased without my knowledge. I paid Foster Electric nearly $200 for only a few minutes of work to change a lightbulb.” – Jeremy Mcentire ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 2025

“The estimator was Chris. There were several projects that needed doing. He was explaining the estimation and mentioned hardwired smoke detectors, that I needed one in each room. I told him I had already purchased them. He said they were not Catoosa County code. I trusted what he was saying so I complied. I had used Foster Electric before so I thought they were somewhat trustworthy. Then the Catoosa County inspector came to sign off on their work. He said that hardwired smoke detectors were not required in existing homes, only in new. I was pretty upset that I was lied to about this because I’m a senior on a fixed income and this took me way over my budget.” – Dale Carter ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ 2025
