FreeVolt review

FreeVolt gets the Average Performer badge and works in 1 state, but their third-party ratings don't go above 4. Local community trust isn't their strong suit either - their score is 3.3 in our evaluation. This badge means they are somehow reliable, but you need to pay more attention to what they have to offer. While FreeVolt may not lead the pack, they are certainly recognized for their capacity to meet a broad range of solar installation needs with commendable customer satisfaction. When considering this solar installer, you can add FreeVolt to your list as a lower priority and one that requires additional research before you decide to work with them.

What Do Customers Say About the FreeVolt?

Negative reviews:

“Bart, Mohammed and the rest at Freevolt will lie to your face until they hit the grave. Do yourself a favor and go with another local company. They literally have every excuse in the book, and they will drag their feet as long as they need. Their ‘technology’ isn’t better, its a sales pitch and I wouldnt rely on their panels since they get them from Poland and used that as an excuse to take literally a year to do 4 installations for me. A YEAR! They lied to me to get me to work for them as well, (unfulfilled promises) and now are holding $9500 hostage that they owe me. Thats just bad business. They don’t know what good business is, its not in their brain. What they do to their customers is what they do to their employees, it’s all the same story. You might feel good now about your system, but just wait until they go bankrupt and vanish off the map. Sorry Freevolt I tried holding back this review to allow you to fulfill your promises but nobody will respond to me or solve anything. This review is not biased and is 100% the TRUTH… unfortunately.” – Trevor Bateman ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 15, 2023

“I purchased a house they installed the solar panels on. The most unresponsive company – could have cared less. I don’t know how they think word of mouth works, or if they even intend to sell anything to me again.” – CC Customer ⭐☆☆☆☆ June 29, 2021

Positive reviews:

“I am very satisfied with the performance of PVGRAF photovoltaic modules. They work reliably, deliver excellent efficiency, and have fully met my expectations. I can confidently recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality solar solutions.” – Lukas B. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ September 30, 2025

“If you are in need of solar I highly recommend Freevolt. David Alvarado answered all of my questions and is very knowledgeable. They produce, install and service their product along with a warranty. This is huge as I have not found another company that produces their own panels.” – Jessica F. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 14, 2022

Negative reviews:

“Can’t find anyone at Freevolt. Looks like they took the money and ran. The answering machine still works, so they were smart enough to make it seem like they are still in business. It’s a moot point if you want them to install your panels. Good like finding them.My situation is, they installed a SolarEdge inverter that caps off at 7600watts of real time production. After 18 months of data, my system can easily produce 8600w or more on peak sun days. However, my inverter will only send a max of 7600 to Edison, real time. So, that’s literal credit dollars directly out of my pocket. Ineptitude by Freevolt to the max! But good luck finding someone to talk to. Run, and run fast, in the other direction.” – Brian W. ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 26, 2025

“this company install for me in 2020. It was not easy. Now they have closed their door in California and left the customers with nothing. No warning, no followup, no warranty and now way to access the information about the installation so you can easily contact another company. I see they are trying the same thing in Florida. Be ware.” – Greg F. ⭐☆☆☆☆ April 17, 2025

Negative reviews:

“My system went down the first week of September and I contacted FreeVolt. They responded with a form for me to fill out with my system details and what the issue was. I sent the form back and was informed the company is restructuring and they won’t be able to address my issue for at least a month. I’ve asked if there is another company they can recommend that supports my solar hardware so I can pay them to diagnose and fix my issue. My emails and phone messages have gone unanswered for 2 weeks now. I should be illegal for a company to hold you hostage and not help you when their product fails (I paid $50K for my system).” – Shane W ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 6, 2023

“2.5 years ago ordered a system. They came drilled holes through roof put a system on roof, never connected to electrical panels, didnt follow drawings, didnt complete contract or get permits. Cashed check and disappeared into the desert like a rat.” – Dan W ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 29, 2024
