“Very good at selling what was a good product, even though it was more expensive than other companies’ offerings. Installation was fast, efficient and professional. Utility bill savings with the solar panels has been exactly what we’d hoped for. “I hired Good Energy Solutions to install a PV system on our home with SunPower solar panels. I was the first to install solar in my neighborhood and they were very helpful getting HOA approval with an aesthetically pleasing system design. After nearly 7 months I’m pleased to report that the performance of our solar panels have been good since our system was activated in the fall of 2021. The panels have withstood Kansas weather including high winds, hail and snow and have generated 9,569 kWh of electricity which is 102% of our home usage. That includes the electricity to charge an electric vehicle. Other than the standard charge to remain connected to the grid, we have effectively erased our electric bill as well as the bill to fuel one of our cars! “When passers-by previously asked who did our solar panels (half on our roof and half on an aluminum frame mounted to the house), I would enthusiastically endorse Good Energy. This experience, however, was far from positive. Shortly after getting our panels installed approximately 8 years ago, we noticed water leaking from our roof after heavy rains. Suspecting an issue with our gutter, we recently hired a roofer (for $1800) to re-line our gutter and re-shingle the lower portion of our roof. To gain access to the gutter, however, required removal of the solar panels on the aluminum frame. We were initially quoted $1000+ by Good Energy to simply remove and then re-install the panels; after objecting, that was revised to $670, which we were told covered the 12 person-hours (4 persons x 3 hours/person) required for this job. Watching the job performed, we were clearly overcharged by a factor of two or so, as two people basically did the job, while two others watched. After re-lining our gutter and then getting the panels re-installed, however, our roof is still leaking! The roofer told us that sometimes when solar panels are mounted directly to a roof, the holes drilled into the roof to fasten the panels are not always reinforced with some sealant, so we are now trying to understand from the solar company how the solar panel installation was leak-proofed.” – dzb ⭐☆☆☆☆ November 2023
