“I accepted a bid from this company through EnergySage in 2023. Time passed. I was told several times in response to my queries that research was being done. Eventually I received a proposal that was very different from what was in the bid I accepted, such as more panels, including the inappropriate placement of three panels on the north-facing main roof of my house (a waste of money). “We signed a contract in August 2024 and paid 30% of the total amount as requested. The contractor, on the other hand, didn’t find problems that Pepco later found, which caused big delays. Then they tried to charge me more for problems that they should have known about as experts in their field. I changed my first request to keep the project going. After that, there was no communication for a few months. They said the delays were because of problems with permits, but when I looked into the permitting system myself, that wasn’t true. In July 2025, after months of waiting and sending in multiple requests, I was told that the panels and hardware we had ordered needed to be replaced with similar items. This added even more time to the ordering and delivery process. We decided to cancel the project after waiting a year. At first, they said they would charge us fees that were not in our contract. They finally agreed to give me my money back, but it took them more than a month to do so. In the end, they kept our money for more than a year and didn’t deliver anything as promised. Green Brilliance was the most responsive, thorough (yet straightforward), and transparently competitive. Their warranty was the most comprehensive without caveats, and they were one of limited groups willing to commit to the year-end completion. My experience during the permitting was frustrating at times (communication could have been better) but that was partly due to many questions from the jurisdiction that extended the review. “I received an alert about 2 weeks ago that the optimizers in my system are not functioning. I have tried for 3 days to contact my installer, green brilliance, and have not received a single reply. I am basically paying for your panels to sit on my roof and do nothing. I have tried calling and emailing before I wrote this review. I know they stack the good reviews up front, I hope someone reads this and that I can convince them that having them install your panels is NOT WORTH THE PRICE. My roof is smaller and they did not mention that it will, at best, generate enough electricity to barely break even on the electric bill. After 3 years I already have a failure and this company seems completely indifferent to this.
