“I’ve received quote for a 2.5kW system from two big solar companies and two local companies. At first, I opted for one of the big companies since they were the cheapest and since they have been in business for a long time. I read that they had bad customer service but decided to ignore those comments and boy was I disappointed with the communication. After two months, I contacted Highlight and they quickly picked up on our last conversation and started the process right away. It took about 1-1.5 months from the contract signing to net metering approval. The process has kinks since I need to have my panel replaced but Dean sorted it out easily. Our primary contact Mohamed did an excellent job in follow through from the beginning to finish; from getting the city permit to start, and to communicating with PGE to get the battery interconnect agreement signed after installation. The system configuration guy Samir is very knowledgeable in helping to put the system online the next day after install. Me and my other family members had other solar and battery systems installed by other companies before. I believe I had a 1st class install team in this project. “This is an update to my original review. Dean replied and expressed his apologies for lack of followup. He immediately directed his service dept to make contact and scheduled an appointment the very next day for the following week. The technician arrived on time. He was friendly, informative (explaining steps taken and answering all my questions) and professional.He completed his assessment and did what he could to address the issue.I expect that system output data over the next few days will provide information or whether he fixed the issue or a new micro-inverter is needed.I am very happy with Highlight Solar and will continue working with them in the future.Thank you for the great service. “I’m having an issue with power reporting from my solar system. I can tell because the last few months, my PG&E credit is much lower than previous years. The panel and inverters have a warranty of 25 years, but after only 11 years I’m having issues. I contacted them repeatedly for months but they never found out the issue. “I have done 3 solar projects for 2 homes with Highlight Solar. I have worked with Dean, Sam, and Ali. The last job was a large solar installation with battery backup. They did a great job, and I am extremely happy. They continue to be available to answer and help with any questions I have such as getting access to the apps to monitor and control my solar/battery system. I have heard of so many people who use Tesla or other solar providers only to have poor customer service and not know how to connect to their systems.
