“Homefix Custom Remodeling has made my home brand new! Roof, Amish crafted patio door and complete siding. Every employee was stellar. Made sure we understand what they were doing. Above all, the installation team and his brother who did the siding, worked in such hot humid weather for about 23 hours total . They kept me informed and were so helpful. The siding is beyond what I thought it would be and all the trim work is super. “We contracted with them for new gutters in Nov ’24 and we requested leaf guard on one side where we have a lot of trees. During the negotiation phase, the sales person said that he can get a lower price, and apparently dropped the leaf guard completely without telling us. They did the installation in Jan and in April the gutter on the tree side was already failing. They told us that it was our fault for allowing build up, but it built up because there was bowing. There is hardly any leaf dropping in spring! The down spout has also looks like poor quality because of the slap dash job done. “Toxic environment and management without clear metrics and reporting. HCR waits ‘4 to 6 weeks’ after installation to pay commissions in full, but does not provide clear answers or numbers supporting that wait time. Many of us contractors are/were never paid in full after leaving Homefix. They run you to unconfirmed, nonsensical appointments, and if you are able to make a sale, you must wait months for your commission. “This company is very shady and unethical. We selected them because of the price. It was substantially lower than other quotes received. The reason it was lower was because it wasn’t accurate. With the dumpster in our yard, and the roofing materials delivered only then did they ‘discover’ we also needed all new planking. We were prepared and budgeted for a $21,300 project. Suddenly we needed to come up with an additional $8,500 for the plywood. This was part of all the other roofer’s quotes. When I voiced that I wanted to use another company they told me I signed a contract and they planned to enforce it. If I broke the contract I would have to give them 1/3. I had no choice but to cave. When I pressed on why this wasn’t discovered until they started- they had no response. I was stuck and was forced to proceed (or walk away from $7,100). “I cannot give this company a good review at all, lets start by I fired them as they messed my house structural integrity by cutting into a joist while attempting to install a walk in shower. They attempted to use a mechanical trap for a drain when it is against code as the area has no access. and they were not prepared to complete the rough in so that an inspector could come in and pass after they completed it. I advised them this did not have to be rushed but make sure they have all the parts needed to complete each task.. Let me say DO NOT allow a contractor tell you they can have a shower installed in 1 day, this is BS as it needs to be inspected after each phase. Now I am stuck with the dilemma of get this joist repaired as it seems I might have to open up my finished basement to get this repaired.
