“I bought solar panels form IPS 7 years ago. There were problems from the beginning. Panels didn’t work right the 1st year. Finally fixed. There has been no Regional Manager for the past 7 months and no indication when position will be filled. My solar panels have not been working well for past year, according to records, and I now have solar panels and am paying an electric bill. Work in New England region is subcontracted out. Subcontractor was here multiple times and has not fixed problem. Presumably, a new subcontractor has been hired. When one calls or emails service department in Colorado, it takes multiple times to get a response, I have now called/emailed daily for 4 days in a row, still no response. “Independent Power (IPS) completed an install of a Mitsubishi Heat Pump and Air Regulator. This replaced our 18 year old gas furnance and AC unit that were about to fail. “We are current clients and have never been treated this badly by any company. There has been no communication with us as changes were made on our project. We are now being bullied and I mean bullied and asked to pay a substantial amount more money with no promise of completion and they wont ask for more Money. “I’ve been working at Independent Power for many years and it has been a wonderful place for me to grow and develop my skills. There’s been new management since 2022 and they are really working hard to transform the company for the better. There’s a generally laid back vibe and most folks seem to get along well. Our benefits have greatly expanded in the last five years and are now very competitive if not better than our competitors. Everyone works hard here and helps each other out. As far as work-life balance, it can’t be beat. Days off are approved without much, if any hassle. If something personal comes up, you can take care of it without having to fight tooth or nail. Everyone at the company is very supportive of each other both in and out of work. The work flow isn’t too overwhelming, but there is plenty to do. “I accepted their overpriced quote based on a time limit. Cuz they won’t tell you an hourly price I give it to you here it’s roughly 250 to $300 an hour. the normal hourly price for an electrician is between 80 and 110 for a consumer. It’s 24 f in the sun today so I understand that it’s cold, but sunny weather in clear blue sky and they had to call out because it was too cold for them to work.
