“James came to our home last week to evaluate the condition of our roof. He determined although there was wear and tear with the roof, there was not significant damage to place a claim with our insurance company for a new roof. I asked him if there was anything that could be done with the flashing that was sticking up where the roof met the siding. He said he would ask one of his crew members to swing by our home the next time they would be in our area to see what could be done. Three days later I received a text from James stating Danny his project manager was headed to our home to fix the flashing. Brian arrived 30 minutes later and repaired the flashing at no charge! We were so impressed with the excellent service we received from Lifetime Roof & Solar, when it comes down to replacing our roof, we will definitely give them a call! “My experience with Lifetime Roofing & Solar began with their representative filling out the estimate with a mistake that would have increased the costs by 50%. After a forty minute long discussion and a call to his boss he finally agreed that I was right. Since this was a new employee I was inclined to let this pass. The company then scheduled my hail damage roof replacement to happen on a day where there was a 65% chance of rain with a high probability for hail. I contacted the company and told them that I did not want my roof replaced on a day with a forecast like this. I was initially told that the “”paper”” was guaranteed for thirty days and things were “”fine””. It took me just about having a meltdown for them to move the installation. No roofer would install his own roof on a day like this! The installation was supposed to take a day, but the work stretched into the next morning. I’d rate the shingle work as ok. The rows on the roll roofing over my porch were uneven. One spot even had a ¾ inch strip with no sand on it as there was insufficient overlap. The edge of the roofing looks like a wave pattern rather than a straight line. The contractor left a bunch of loose trash in my recycling bin that I had to sort out along with some other leftover materials on my porch. The only part of the work I would rate as excellent would be the gutter installation, which was done by a subcontractor. I was misled by the reviews into thinking I would get superior work done. In the future I’ll definitely just go with the contractors recommended by my insurance company. “Lifetime also has a solar installation team. I have been fighting with this company for 7 months to get my solar installation completed. After 2 months they hired another contractor to get this completed. But the biggest issue is they should have never recommended an over 10KW system as Xcel just does everything in their power to delay and hold this up. They should have known this. Meanwhile they have over 20K of my money. I can’t even get them to return my call. Stay completely away from this so called “”Dave Logan”” approved company. BAD, BAD, BAD. 4/6/18 As a follow up, once Xcel agreed to a lower KW system, Lifetime would not honor the original contract price. The price went up 60 cents per watt. I negotiated this down considerably as part of the increase was due to better panels but I really feel this was a bait and switch job. Of course after 10 months of holding on to my down payment, they were calling about getting paid with 5 days of the job completion. “Working with Richard Daskam at Lifetime Roofing was an outstanding experience, even through what turned into a very long and stressful process. We first filed our roof claim in April, and the project wasn’t completed until August. Throughout those five months, Richard stayed engaged and helped guide us every step of the way. Our insurance provider Liberty Mutual (Safeco) originally refused the claim, stating the damage looked man-made, not hail related. We got a second opinion that was likewise refused and even asked for an engineer examination that sadly didn’t take the claim further. “Our last move before getting into the legal arena was to hire our own appraiser to bargain with Safeco’s appraiser. Persistence and adequate paperwork finally resulted in the hail damage being certified and the claim being paid. Richard was very responsive, patient and informed over this whole endeavor. He explained our options, kept communication clear and on top of it, and made navigating a convoluted insurance procedure much simpler. “Do not go with this company at any cost. They say you will receive a lifetime warranty but that would only be true if they stay in business. Check other review sites to see all of the other people having their own problems with Lifetime Solar. Once they get any of your money your are ignored and neglected. You will have promises made to you that may never be fulfilled. Get everything in writing or record any conversations you may have. We initially signed a contract with them 10/2016 and it took them until 2/2017 to get it installed. Then we suffered from the hail storm in May that required the panels to be removed to repair the roof. It took them until almost August to get them back up. This caused us to lose all of the Summer months to build up reserves for Winter. I recommend you go with any Solar company other than Lifetime Solar Solutions.
