“We’ve had our solar for a little over 3 years. The installation was poor and left a lot of trash in our yard. Our inverter went out in the first year and again in the third year — it’s been out for a month and a half with no resolution, leaving us paying full energy bills plus the loan. We were told our bill would be around $10–$20/month, which turned out to be false even after we added extra panels. “I was shown a chart and told that 30% would come back on taxes or could be applied to payments so they would not go up after 18 months. This is not true — it is simply the option to pay down the loan after receiving a tax refund. My tax refund is only $1,000 on a $100,000 loan, so my payments are going to double in a few months — something I specifically told the salesman I would not be able to handle.
