She would answer all our questions in a timely manner and had no problem with getting a answer to a question that she wasn’t’t sure of. Alex ( Project Manager ) was equally as professional and easy to talk with. He came to our property and went over everything about the project and answered any questions that we had. He also sent us any paperwork that needed to be signed to get the system up any running. Both Dana and Alex take care of everything that is needed to get final approval with both the town and electric company. The installation team were terrific in all phases. Fearless too! Up on our steep roof is not for the faint at heart. They were excellent at explaining details of the completed system. We are very happy with our decision to contract with NEC. “We recently removed our oil heat and hot water and became all electric. As a result, our electric bill increased dramatically. We decided to explore solar. We contacted two local solar installers and after very detailed explanation and proposal from each, we chose NEC. The price was about the same, although NEC’s was for a larger system, which is what we wanted. NEC was more aggressive with respect to sizing than the other. The sales person was very knowledgeable, patient, and answered all of our questions in language we could understand. The project manager and installation crews were very professional, timely, and did a very neat job. They answered all of our questions as the installation proceeded. “NEC Solar did a very good job for the Sharon Historical Society. They installed 36 solar panels ahead of schedule for the price they quoted. The efficient Q-Cell solar panels are producing as much electricity as they said they would (about 13,000 kilowatt-hours per year). NEC Solar installed devices to prevent snow from sliding off, and they installed “critter guards” to prevent birds and animals from nesting under the solar panels. They also provided a cell phone app to monitor both electricity production by the solar array and also electricity usage by the building, which has been very useful for managing our heat pump system and other electrical appliances. “Not only did NEC Solar make our install experience fantastic, it was their service AFTER install that really showed us how much this company cares. We installed Solar in November 2024 without a hitch. In April, we made the decision to move from our amazing home, leaving this wonderful solar panel system behind. The buyer’s lender was incredibly incompetent and was not understanding our Solar had a loan versus a lease. “I’ve been researching solar for at least 3 weeks now and have spoken with half a dozen companies. NEC Solar was among the top 3, and despite a good first impression, I ultimately decided not to go with them. First, the good: Artie is great! I lucked out when he showed up at my door for my appointment with Liz, the sales person. He is very meticulous and patient and we explored several different options together, like placing panels on different roof surfaces and even simulating the effect of removing some trees. Overall, a great experience with Artie. Unfortunately, when we switched gears to talking numbers, things became much less pleasing. Don’t get me wrong, Liz is also a nice person, but I despise pressure sales tactics, such as “you’ll only get this discount if you sign within 24 hours” or “today is the last day of the month so your quote expires tomorrow because prices are going up”. I like to take my time and research as much as I can when signing a $50,000 deal and NEC Solar didn’t really let me do things at my own pace.
