“We have only had two months of power billings with solar, but so far each month has been $12.97 per month, plus we are adding storage to the grid. Normally our electricity bill, paid in Sept & Oct, over a 4 year period averaged $313 for each month. Thus $626 for two months –less the $26 now paid, saved us $574 in utility bills so far. “If I could give less than one star to Newstart Solar, I would. Bill, the salesman made the salespitch, next up was Eric, the closer. The day we agreed to have Newstar Solar install the solar panels Eric promised us over 1000.00 because we missed the 2020 rebate incentive and a 3 day emergency battery. About one month later a competitor showed up on my doorstep telling me that he could get us a better deal. I called Eric and told him about the competitor and Eric promised another 2000.00 if I stayed with Newstar. Installation schedule was a joke, I was always calling Eric to see what was going on. I was contacted by Newstar once before installation concerning the installation and the information they gave me was wrong. I called Eric two months after his competitor stood on my doorstep to ask Eric about the deliverance of the battery and the check, Eric told me the check would be sent out in two days. I texted Eric two weeks later and asked if he intended on keeping his promises. ‘Yes, 100%’ he answered. Three weeks later no word from Eric. “They wer great to work with at the beginning of the process. But once the system was installed, I received no support of follow up. They had promised to follow up with details on the system etc, but 5 months later I have yet to hear from them. Be cautious of their sales approach as it appears they only want to sell you a system. “Purchased solar from New Star 3 years ago. If they are under new management, maybe it is a different story now. We have found out that New Star installed older solar panels in 2022 to save cost to them but pass the cost onto us. This is not good business practice. “Cannot recommend new star solar, installation dragged on for a couple months after the sale. Now I have a horrible pigeon problem that is clogging gutters and making a mess. Part of the install done in February was pigeon guards to keep them from nesting below the panels but they have obviously found holes. Called Angel he said he would get a tech out but they did not show, I have emailed several times and called a few times but he is always away from his desk and I hear nothing back. I have a history of seizures and cannot get on the roof. May have to look into having someone else come out and send new star the bill.” – Matt ⭐☆☆☆☆ September 2025
