| Panel Options | Monocrystalline Solar Panels: These panels are highly efficient, working in the 15-20% range. They are made from silicon blocks or ingots, which are then cut into silicon sheets. Monocrystalline panels have a uniform coloration due to their high silicon purity. Polycrystalline Solar Panels: These panels are cost-effective and produced using raw silicon melted and poured into square molds. They have slightly lower efficiency compared to monocrystalline panels but are more affordable. Thin-Film Solar Panels: Thin-film panels are commonly used for small solar projects, such as RVs or sheds. They are lightweight and flexible, making them suitable for DIY installations. |
| Battery Installations | Carrollton, TX: They integrate battery storage with solar panels and whole home standby generators for a complete hybrid energy system. Little Elm, TX: Similar to Carrollton, they provide battery backup power systems installation, combining battery storage with solar panels and standby generators. Prosper, TX: In Prosper, they also offer home battery backup power systems installation, ensuring a reliable energy supply through battery storage and solar panels. |

What Do Customers Say About the North Texas Solar?
Positive reviews:
“About 8 months ago I had work done to remove and reset my solar panels after a storm damaged our roof. During that process I also chose to have new panels installed to adapt to changes in our energy consumption patterns due to our family growing in size. North Texas solar worked closely with us throughout this process and worked hard to make the process go as smooth as possible. If you’re interested in solar, I highly recommend this company. It has been a great customer experience each time I’ve worked with this company.” – Cody Abney ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 22, 2025
“If you are looking for a solar company that will support and walk you through the entire sales/installation process, North Texas Solar is the company. Do not go with ADT or others that come to your door. They are renting you a solar system and if you go to sell your property the solar system is not yours. It will be impossible. I had an existing solar edge system and was looking for someone to service it. Several companies would not help me since I already had a system. Jake from North Texas Solar answered 3 weeks of questions from me. I decided to have North Texas Solar update my current system to Emphase and added 15 additional panels, a total of 43 panels. The entire team is very knowledge and helpful. North Texas Solar did all the paperwork, HOA, and followed up with me during the entire process. In fact, since installation North Texas Solar has contacted me to make sure everything is working and I am happy. I am very glad I chose North Texas Solar and know they are there when I need them.” – Linda Solt ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 22, 2025
Negative reviews:
“I think solar is great and hopefully I’ll have decades of trouble free clean power. That said, my experience with North Texas Solar has been horrible. Two install dates were scheduled and canceled last minute due to lack of parts. Don’t schedule unless you have all the parts! When they did come, they had the wrong parts and said, ‘We’ll be back later.’ When finally replaced, they did not work (yet another install visit). How about testing equipment first? They damaged gutters and said they were already damaged (the gutters were 3 days old – brand new). After three weeks I arranged for the repair. They were smoking on the job site. They had to be reminded to wear masks (we provided). They left a junk pile on driveway that I carted off. They left rails sticking out beyond the roof line (neighborhood eyesore) and said we’ll be back to cut. Two weeks later they were mad that I called to have removed. They created a potentially fatal trip/fall issue by routing electric cables over attic access stairs (now relocated wiring). They installed electric boxes in a manner that did not meet code and then wanted to argue that it was fine because code didn’t make sense (boxes were relocated to meet code). Every issue I had they denied, deferred, and deflected. My advice – shop around” – TP1 ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 23, 2020
Positive reviews:
“I looked for months for someone willing to install products that I purchased on my own. Most people wouldn’t even call me back. When Jake called me, he spoke to me with interest and courtesy and even had some suggestions that I hadn’t considered. I knew he was someone I would be able to work with.Bottom line, they got my EG4 18kpv, three PowerPro batteries, and all the ‘extra stuff’ needed to make it work installed and working properly. I highly recommend these guys!” – Kevin M. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 8, 2024
“North Texas Solar made the process of installing panels as easy as it could be—when we hit snags they facilitated, smoothed things over, and helped with every administrative and compliance hurdle.Does it work? Yes. The panels generate substantial energy for a smaller system and wiped out large electric bills. in shoulder months we hit almost the minimum connectivity bill required by our electric provider and in extreme months (cold or hot) we spend the same as a week of groceries. I’ve lived most of my life in small apartments and these panels keep our electric bills close to that level. great value.payback period is 7-10yrs for most non battery setups and 10-15 for battery setups. large systems might be 20yrs. These are rough estimates. I strongly recommend starting non battery and once you find out how well solar works then add a battery later.peace to everyone and good luck.” – Bryan C. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 26, 2023
Negative reviews:
“We really love having our Enphase solar system and the original installation services were very good. It has worked as promised and we have had no equipment problems. However, the crew left a poorly patched hole in our roof during the panel installation process. We spent 4 months and thousands of dollars trying to find a leak in the roof and fix a problem we swore had nothing to do with NTS. Finally, after many phone calls, they agreed to remove some panels for the 4th roofing company to check the roof. The hole in the roof was directly under one of the panels. The roof was repaired and we have no more water coming in. We do have bills for roof modification, chimney caps, spray foam insulation, drywall repair, painting and will need some kind of mold remediation in the attic. We called, sent pictures and email. No response, totally ghosted. I can recommend the system, but not the installation. Now I’m worried we won’t have any help if we do need something. Very discouraging.” – Lorrie B. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ January 10, 2026
Positive reviews:
“After discovering our original installer had gone bankrupt, I contacted a few companies to replace a microinverter for us. Spoke with the team about the issue and they were very helpful and told me exactly what they could do to help. When the two folks showed up to replace it, they were so nice and courteous and professional! They explained everything in a way I could follow and fixed an issue I was having in the app as well. Could not be happier that I have found them to help us along our journey to energy independence!” – Brent C ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 14, 2025

Positive reviews:
“Jake and is team care about the customer and THEIR solar project. All about customer service. Their system is clean and neat, not like other systems where design is ugly or wires hanging everywhere. Not fast talking like others nor do the Gand you off once the agreement is reached. Jake and his team with you start to finish.” – Wes and Robin Herbol ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025
“We have had a superlative experience with North Texas Solar. Jake and Zack are incomparably good to work with, very patient and responsive, and super professional. The crews were polite and accommodating as well, allowing me to watch every step of the process and making the entire process delightful. The system is incredible so far and promises to be even better with time. Above all, it is great to work with a local company with a great reputation. Don’t hesitate to invest your ‘energy’ with these folks – they are top notch!” – Dr. Walter ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2024
Negative reviews:
“Unfortunately our experience with savings has not been at all what we were told. Our loan payment is $117 a month and we get an average savings off our electricity bill of $50 a month if we’re lucky. Knowing what we know now we would’ve never done this deal.” – Dave Stovall ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2025
