“I don’t post many reviews but this one I feel obliged to write so other people don’t have to go through what my family and I have gone through. PacificSky Solar has cost my family time, money and extreme stress. I will clearly describe why you should NOT choose PacificSky Solar for your solar panel installation. Most importantly they cannot be trusted. They have proven that time and time again. 1. Not saving money: A main reason I installed solar, which the company sold it to me as, was that this would save us money and that we would be self-sufficient electricity wise, this did not happen but the opposite. My max production capacity during the best months of the year (live in the Valley) is about 900 KWh / month. The problem is that my need during the hottest months amount to about 1,200 KWh / month (1 EV car) which means that I must pay additionally to LADWP every month. I will never save any surplus to my LADWP NEM Bank which means that I will constantly have to buy additional electricity from LADWP throughout the year. All in all, this means that due to the fixed financing cost of the system I hardly save any money at all during the summer months, and I will lose money during the winter months compared to not having solar panels at all!! I had to spend a lot of time making sure nothing was wrong with my solar meter, LADWP account, my power production etc. A lot of fact finding. I got no support they were just blaming someone else all the time. All this despite providing actual LADWP invoices and actual electricity usage up until a few months before the installation date. A major mistake. 2. Damaged my roof during install: My install was finalized in November 2021 just in the beginning of the rain season in Los Angeles. After the solar panel install my roofer did a yearly review of the roof and noticed several major mistakes. During the install they had broken 16 tiles that had not been replaced. In some cases, they had just tried to glue the tile pieces together. Several cases of lack of sealing/water proofing after drilling directly into the roof. This is just a few examples of the problems they created. They never notified me about this but just left the roof as is. My roofer said that it was a severe safety issue (roof can completely cave-in after a few years) and risk of water leaks (roof completely open in some areas). 3. Water leaks: And surprise surprise I got water leaks in my kitchen/living room ceiling (multiple times) first time while away on vacation. They needed to come back twice to fix the roof and replace the tiles and repaint the whole inside of the ceiling. I have still not had the chance to confirm that everything is OK with the roof. 4. Scratched solar panel installed: One solar panel was completely scratched up, but they went ahead and installed it anyway. Had to complain to have it replaced. I wish you all the best with your solar panel install. For your sake go with another vendor. “If I could give a negative rating, I would. They are impossible to get hold of for any issues after the main job is completed. Then they try to blame the problem on something else. The technician who came today did that and then left without letting me know and without even closing the front door he was using to access the problem. I have tried calling several times to be told my call would be returned but no one has done so. I am unable to reach the managers or the owner and the office phone says everyone is in a meeting and that you can’t leave a message. He talked them into purchasing two batteries and promised them a significant rebate. A rebate they never received. They are in the process of finding out what legal remedies they have available to them. They have been speaking to the city attorneys office and have found out there have been several complaints about this company. “If it sounds too good to be true…..it’s because it is. Please take my advice and listen to the dozens of one star reviews and RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! This company has been incompetent and a complete nightmare from the very beginning and I can’t believe I signed a contract that means I’m stuck with them for years. Their sales team is smooth and will give you a great pitch and “”unbeatable price”” but the moment you sign they will ghost you. I was told it would take 30-90 days to get installed so I waited patiently only to literally never hear from the rep again. I called dozens (no exaggeration) of times and it would either go straight to voicemail or the rep would finally answer and make up some new excuse as to why they haven’t been able to install. Finally 5 months later someone shows up to install….and they break my entire house’s electrical system. That’s right, they broke all of the lights in my house. They left me in the dark (literally) and feigned surprise when I called back the next day. They sent someone out and they had to break through my exterior stucco and fix the mistake they made (they drilled into a patch of cables….come on guys) but left without fixing the stucco at all! Everything was going ok (although the panels do NOT create as much as they make you believe they will during the sales process) but then one day I looked at the app and I had created 0 kWH in 4 days despite the system saying that everything was “”normal””. Then after calling the app and them saying there was nothing wrong I called Pacific Sky Solar and they said they couldn’t even send someone out for over a week – meaning that their system would continue to produce 0 energy for over 1/3 of the entire month. They kept saying they’d call me back and ghosted me only to send an email the next day blaming the issue on LADWP. But….do you know what is absolutely suspicious? Not even 30 minutes after they sent that email blaming LADWP the solar panels “”magically”” started working again. I could go on for days about how awful this company has been but please if you are thinking of getting solar just pay the extra little bit of money and go with literally ANY OTHER COMPANY ON THE PLANET, it’s worth avoiding the absolute nightmare that is the entire Pacific Solar company and it will probably save you money in the long run too.
