What Do Customers Say About the Quantum Solar Designs, Inc?

yelp.com

Positive reviews:

“We researched many solar companies before choosing quantum and we are so glad we did! Both father and son are very knowledgeable, very professional, and very patient with all of our questions. Their install team arrived on time and completed the work in one day. We had 23 panels installed plus the Franklin battery so we will have power even in blackouts. The follow up meeting included an explanation of the app that allows us to monitor the system.” – Kathy R. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 2, 2025

“This review is long overdue. I worked directly with Chris and he was exceptional. I had an issue with a leak in my roof under the Solar Panels which were installed about 2-years prior. Chris came out within 2-days of contacting him and had his team fix the issue in a timely and professional manner. It says a lot about a company who stands by their products and continues to provide exceptional customer service to their existing clients. This is what will make me a repeat customer. Highly recommend!” – Jason T. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ May 25, 2016

Negative reviews:

“BEWARE! This company does not call you back. It took me several weeks for someone to finally send me an email, but that was the last time I heard from them. Even if you already have their solar panels installed and need additional maintenance or consultation, it does not seem that they will call you back. The receptionist is super nice, but I believe it would be an unnecessary risk to work with this company if this is how they treat people who’ve already bought their solar panels. If they are busy, it would be common courtesy to at least email back with a simple apology, but their representative Cathy Pina has not responded to my multiple emails or calls for weeks. Based on many of the other terrible reviews I’ve read about this operation, I would AVOID them like the plague.” – Rock H. ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 1, 2025

“Quantum underestimated my monthly energy use and provided a system well below what I needed. When I asked about the system, my response was that your system will be more than enough to cover your electric use. However, the past 5 years, I’ve had to pay SCE Thousands of Dollars at the end of my year use. It’s been a big hassle because Quantum didn’t listen to the customer and under estimated my yearly electric use.” – Jn P. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ April 25, 2025

Positive reviews:

“This contractor was great. They arrived on time every day, were knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, and did flawless work. They started on the day they they said they would be there. They also took exactly the amount of time they predicted. I could not ask for anything more.” – Ronald C. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 2016

“This is the way a photovoltaic (PV) installation should go. Professional personnel. Can deal with anything that comes up. With a custom house, I don’t want just anyone tramping around on my aluminum roof. Quantum Solar Designs, Inc. has professional personnel who treat your home like their would their own. They deliver what they promise, and do it in remarkable time. Their products (inverters and the modules (panels) ) are state of the art, designed and manufactured in Germany. (No Chinese knock offs for this project). The bottom line is simple: They did what they promised they would do! Highly recommend Mr. D. Dennis and his staff.” – Edward Y. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 2013

Negative reviews:

“Do not recommend. QSD designed our system against manufacturer recommendations by using significantly undersized microinverters (Enphase IQ7 vs. IQ7Plus). This results in a significantly decreased energy output estimated at 750MWh annually by Enphase in turn resulting in a significantly decreased value of the system. The decreased output is mentioned nowhere in the contract or any other documentation. Nameplate system size in the contract: 3.4kW. Actual peak output due to undersized microinveters: 2.4kW resulting in severe power output clipping and decreased annual production. Refused to do anything about this while producing misleading production estimates after the fact – after installation in May 2020. In addition: did not connect the system to WiFi for reporting. Very slow to respond to requests (phone or email). No estimated production numbers or any other metrics other than the nameplate system size in the contract or any other documentation. Summary: two major failures with a number of smaller ones: (1) did not follow manufacturer recommendations in using radically undersized microinverters; (2) did not disclose any estimated production numbers in the contract or any other documentation. P.S. I was initially ecstatic with QSD given they were highly recommended to us, and the fact that they could actually install a system where several competitors including Tesla, Solar Optimum, LA Solar Group – backed off for various reasons. Yet given the support experience, inexplicable design decisions resulting in very real monetary damage to us, and their multiple attempts to produce misleading production estimates – I can’t recommend them.” – Alex G. ⭐☆☆☆☆ July 2020

Positive reviews:

“I am very happy with their solar and battery installation and the interactions leading up to it. No BS and no aggressive marketing. This is a small company that does everything without subcontractors. The owner came out, looked at the house and gave me a quote for free. Solar Optimum’s quote was lower, but that was an initial quote over the phone and they want a down payment to come out and finalize the quote and I’m sure they would have increased it then. I can fully recommend Quantum Solar Designs!” – Tobias Schaedler ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025

“We are really happy with our choice of Quantum Solar. We looked at 3-4 other companies first and had decided maybe solar wasn’t for us. We love our solar and not feeling guilty to run our AC when it’s hot. The people at Quantum are professional, genuine and kind, and they know their stuff. We only wish we had found them earlier. We think all our friends who own a house should have Quantum Solar. It was a no-extra cost investment, has saved us money and will save us more in a few years. Call them and tell them the Ericksons told you to.” – Hilary Erickson ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2015

Negative reviews:

“I reviewed this business, Quantum Solar 1 star. 1 star certainly demonstrates how I feel about their business towards their clients. Dawaine, the owner will come to your home, ask for money, his employees will put up Solar Panels without the city permits! It took 2.5 years , with the non-working panels up, to final get permits and to start using the system. You will NEVER see or hear from the owner, Dewaine again. He will have his office employees send emails to you with promises that Dwaine will contact you immediately. In which he never did or will. One female at the office came out to our home and told us that because of the inconveniences the company caused, the owners will not charge us for the remaining balance. We thought that was fair. Unfortunately , with many attempts and months to get a final release from quantum solar, the office sent an email stating that they changed their mind and want final payment. We have dealt with several contractors and built/remodeled several homes and have never dealt with such an unethical company before. Do yourself a favor and use another solar company. You will be much happier doing so, I promise!” – RB B ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2024
