What Do Customers Say About the San Diego Roofing?

yelp.com

Positive reviews:

“San Diego Roofing did an exceptional job installing the Infinity Roof and new shingles at my home. They were able to apply the materials without removing 26 of my 31 solar panels which saved me thousands on the project! They also corrected some mistakes and sealed leaks made by a previous contractor, plus they added two new roof vents (1 powered in garage). Scott and the entire team was professional and communicated well during the project. I recommend them without hesitation and hope you check them out for your roofing project.” – Jamie G. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 25, 2024

“San Diego Roofing is one of the best companies in the city. Summer of 2015 we needed a new roof. Being new to San Diego, my wife and I called a handful of companies. Many came and provided estimates (some of them were just sales reps and had no idea what they were doing! Did they even know where the roof was? I wasn’t so sure…). San Diego Roofing, Inc. knows roofs. They are absolute professionals. Best in the business from top to bottom. I remember when Gary showed up to give an estimate. I had been working in the yard all day. When he reached out to shake my hand, I told him my hands were dirty. His response: “I’m a roofer!” We exchanged a hearty handshake, and much like Renée Zellweger in the movie Jerry Maguire, I thought: “you had me at hello!” Being the overly neurotic homeowner I am, a couple times over the years I felt a need to contact San Diego Roofing to ask about various things. Marcelo ALWAYS responded. Most recently, after the heavy hail storm we received, my anxiety tendrils emerged yet again. I worried that the intensity of the hail might cause damage to our roof (now almost 6 years old). Marcelo responded within the hour to allay my concerns, and even offered to come by to do an inspection. And he did. Of course, being a roof installed by San Diego Roofing Inc, the roof is excellent. Like new. If only I had another roof to install, I would hire them again. But I only have one house. Hopefully someone reading this review will contact San Diego Roofing, Inc. for a needed new roof. You are not only getting a roof, but a company, a company that remains loyal to its customers in a way rarely seen.” – J M. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 9, 2021

Negative reviews:

“We were first impressed by the initial meetings and plans. Unfortunately, we were treated poorly when we questioned procedures. The results of a small roof project is unsatisfactory and looks horrible. We purchased PVC material for a small flat roof and it is bubbled in a few places. It looks extremely unsightly. This company has not responded to our concerns after multiple emails and texts. Keep searching for a more professional roofing company. They don’t like to be questioned.” – Maria S. ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 25, 2022

“We had a 30 year warranty on our roof and san diego roofing will not honor the warranty i called them several times sent them copies of the receipt and said that it was not prof enough , they can not be trusted with any kind of warranty because they will not honor it.” – Tommy D. ⭐☆☆☆☆ May 10, 2022

Positive reviews:

“I had a fantastic experience with Sun Central Solar. From the first call to the finished installation their team was professional, knowledgeable and took the time to make sure I understood everything. The installers arrived on time, worked quickly and left everything neat. Highly recommend them for anyone looking for a reliable solar company” – Hamilton ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 2025

“I needed a new roof and was looking to install solar at the same time. San Diego Roofing gave me a lower estimate for better quality materials than another large company, and their excellent BBB rating cinched it for me. Scott Donahue and team did excellent work and were responsive, professional, and delivered great quality roofing, venting, and solar panels. Scott suggested an energy-star light colored roof with new venting to keep things cool since my house would get really hot and not cool off quickly. Now, I open my house up in the morning to cool it, leave for the day and come home from work and cool it down with solar for a couple of hours-even during 90 degree days. The solar generates more than enough energy to power my home and send some back to the grid! I can’t recommend San Diego Roofing enough. They are top notch people and their work is top quality.” – J C ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2023

Negative reviews:

“Really bad customer service. They seemed nice and knowledgeable but really don’t want the business unless it’s a big job then won’t give you a straight answer about anything. These guys are not honest or dependable.” – Jeff Booher ⭐☆☆☆☆ January 2026

“Do not use this company. I cannot stress how unprofessional and horrible they were to work with. They put a roof on my house in San Diego, I was preparing to sell. A few days after the roof installation the seller’s inspector came out and looked at the roof and noticed several things that were done incorrectly. I reached out to San Diego roofing to discuss my concerns, they responded with threats of small claims court and liens, as well as collection agency threats. All that I wanted was some resolution on the questions that the inspector had. I have all of their texts and emails, and I’m happy to share them with you. Feel free to link my email through this posting here. I will show you their threatening emails and their texts along with the concerns that the roof inspector had. I will post them any place and anywhere I can to put the word out there so everybody knows NOT to use this company There are too many good roofing companies in San Diego to settle for this one. They are the absolute worst, and you will regret having them on your property for any reason.” – S B ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2020
