What Do Customers Say About the Solar by CIR?
Positive reviews:
“Kevin, Jordan, and the whole Solar by CIR team did a great job with our install. Our permit was approved early and they moved us up a month in the schedule. The install days were cold and snowy. The crew still did a great job and finished in 2 days. Jordan handled all the paperwork, inspections and net meter install. We’re very happy with our install.” – erikwsnyder ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ March 28, 2023
“CIR was a great company to work with. I especially liked that they sought out all permits and I did a minimum of paperwork. CIR did a great job getting us the maximum allowable NYSERDA benefits, and explaining all incentives and tax rebates we are due to receive, and when. I asked about a million questions during the whole process and every question was answered patiently. I was very particular where our ground-mount install took place on our property, and where the power trench was dug. I found CIR extremely accommodating. I highly recommend CIR to install your solar array… they’re a great group of people.” – myhouseisamess2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mar 09, 2017
Negative reviews:
“They only quoted me after I called office directly, seems like they are circumventing the system. Did not use company.” – wdrmlolo ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ September 28, 2020
Positive reviews:
“I am happy with the solar system install on my roof. Mark and his crew did a good job making sure it was done right the first time. The service was upgraded to 200 amp. System went online after new meter change, no problems. I have a tree by my driveway that was a issue for the truck to navigate into my driveway. Thanks, for a job well done.” – Tom ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 21, 2025
“I had an excellent experience with the CIR Electric Company for solar panels. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The entire team, including Kevin , Jordan, Jacob, Andrew , Matt and the installation crew were professional , efficient and exceeded my expectations . Advance notification of the schedule was very helpful and appreciated . The landscaping and vegetable gardens were not disturbed . I highly recommend CIR.” – Lu Ann ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ August 16, 2023
Negative reviews:
“I went ahead and accepted a proposal with Solar by CIR because they seemed to be well reviewed and well priced and they ensured me that their experience in the electrical contracting business would serve well for the solar project. A service upgrade to 200 amps was one of major concerns and they convinced me they could do it and for better pricing than some competing quotes could. Plus, we’re from Grand Island, a couple of streets away from their current office so we’re basically “neighbors.” My family signed in early March ’25, with an expected install date of late May. Sounds good so far. I then would periodically check in with the sales rep, Kevin, who assured me that everything was on track. Asked me to get financing ready, everything seemed smooth. A week before the expected install, I check in. The permit hasn’t even been filed yet. Almost 3 months and seemingly my project is on the back burner. But I understand delays happen so I went along with it, confirmed it would be a few more weeks to get it installed. I can be patient. Then, June 10, about 100 days since we’ve signed, the sales rep calls me. To complete the 200 amp upgrade, they will need to dig. To dig and for equipment, they will need to add 5-6k (couldn’t even give me the courtesy for an exact figure), to be added on to the project. Now, I understand things come up but 3 months later? From a company banking on “we have so much electrical contracting experience” that’s a big thing to miss in the initial visits. Alright, I’ve done a lot of work myself getting this going. Maybe we can come to some agreement. What I was offered was a larger 100 amp panel and $500 off. The initial project has $3000 added for the upgrade. Okay. Maybe we can come to some compromise on the new costs. Offer to pay for even half and I can look into coming up with the other half. Not an option. The project planner apparently, won’t budge. “Jordan was unwilling to budge on this due to how busy we are with the Federal tax credit potentially ending” is what the rep told me. Seemingly, my project was a low priority for you. You’ve got other clients. At this point, we ended our contract as well. After posting a similar review elsewhere, I was then contacted in a panic by the rep who said the company was willing to work things out 50/50 in exchange of removing my review. They end up somehow getting that review removed regardless. All those things about being neighbors and being experienced never panned out for me. It’s really a shame too that I bought into it.” – AkshayB ⭐☆☆☆☆ June 23, 2025
Positive reviews:
“CIR Electrical is synonymous with quality, dedication, and hard work. I’ve had the pleasure of being their storage provider for over a decade now, and it’s easy to state that they have a stellar team. CIR is so adaptable- they do schools, large facilities, hospitals, you name it, they’ve mastered it. Tom and Greg really run a fantastic company there- they should be very proud. There aren’t enough stars to express how valuable Paolo, Jordan, Janice, Craig, Gene, and the rest of the CIR Electrical team are! I highly recommend them!” – Jason K. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ June 11, 2025
“Having recently bought a home with a solar panel system and without the benefit of any literature having been left behind by the seller, I felt really stuck after learning the company that did the installation had folded. After cold calling several outfits, CIR was most responsive. They promptly sent a technician, Kenny, to get the system up and running. Kenny was extremely pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. In minutes he had me thoroughly understanding the system that is now fully operational. Great company.” – Joanne C. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 27, 2021
Negative reviews:
“It’s been almost a year since my solar install. Some things have been good and one thing really grinds my gears. The quoting portion was fast. They use REC panels which are the best panels for the dollar. (Best value vs expensive/cheap). They’re like buying and expensive panel for a moderate price. Longevity/durability and the fact they meet or exceed their production stays. Installation was fast but then the hoops for connection were not. I got to use my panels 2-3 months after install. The city blamed CIR and CIR blamed the city. Either way I missed out on some nice production months. The bad: I didn’t check the inverters used on each panel. I had 425 panels but inverters that capped at under 400. This means my solar panel flattens out instead of being a bell curve and I lose about 2-4kwh a day of production. I didn’t catch this until reviewing the final paper work because I ASSUMED they would give me an inverter appropriate for the panels. Prior to this discovery I would have given them high marks and the benefit of the doubt with the city/electrical/utility/ whatever fiasco. However, that’s capping not only adds up, but my panels were more expensive than they needed or should have been, which makes it a rip off in my book. So, research not only your panels, but make sure the inverter is appropriate to your panel size. They’re the experts and should have done this. They had no remorse or care when I called about this and clearly wanted me to just shit up and go away. So, I did and here’s my review. It’s unfortunate because I thought they did everything else well, but the lack of care at the end, ownership of a clear mistake, and frankly overcharging for what my final project was has me reducing them all the way to one star.” – Jason .. ⭐☆☆☆☆ March 12, 2025
Positive reviews:
“If your tools break on the job, the owner will replace them. Need I say more? You’ve got a good company, great pay, my coworkers were awesome, the only issue with it is sometimes you’ll run out of work, but that’s any job.” – Electrician Helper ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ May 28, 2021
Negative reviews:
“Boss doesn’t respect employees, no raises, once project is complete they fire everyone except foreman and start from scratch, usually temp workers who last about a week to month a piece before they are replaced by another temp.” – Apprentice ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 28, 2020
“work was very hard for a very little amount of pay, not much room to move up anywhere unless you’re an apprentice. just care about cheap labor, that’s all” – Jason .. ⭐⭐☆☆☆ November 17, 2021
“No benefits, no sick pay, no holiday pay, experience frowned upon, only want people who dont know what they are doing.so owner can cut coners and micro manage . Ok for short term job, not” – Alarm Project Manager ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 19, 2019
Positive reviews:
“From the very beginning of the project, working with Kevin, then Jordan and his project team, and finally Nate and his installation crew, the entire experience has been outstanding. Kevin took the time to clearly explain all available options and patiently answered the many questions my wife and I had—especially since this was a capital expense for us. Jordan kept us well-informed throughout the process, ensuring everything stayed on track and that we felt confident every step of the way. I can’t say enough good things about Nate and the on-site team. They were professional, courteous, and responsive to any concerns we had, delivering a thoroughly impressive job. I especially want to recognize Kevin, Jordan, and Nate for their patience and professionalism throughout. Thank you all for a job exceptionally well done!” – Ray Miller ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025
“This was a master craft work by young men, well trained, courteous, very careful and determined to do the job well. Kudos to Nate, Ryan, Shawn, Dan, Ryan (2), Jude, Tyler and the back up crew at CIR. They were neat, orderly and thorough in their communications with us during their short time here in mostly rainy weather. I appreciate them. While we wait for inspection and power up after, I would recommend their work, their timeliness and their price. I imagine it will bring great returns for years to come and thank CIR and these pros! And the tattoo talk was funny!” – Donald Van Every ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 2025
Negative reviews:
“I had a terrible experience with this CIR Electrical, way over priced and terrible work, maybe the people that have good comments are family members” – mark silver ⭐☆☆☆☆ 2014
“I didn’t personally have a great experience with the sales team. I am sure they are fine most times. The quality of work was fine. Had an issue with the way they balanced the panels on each circuit. It kept causing the breaker to trip. They did come out right away and fix it though.” – Aaron Wright ⭐⭐☆☆☆ 2019
