Solar Energy Labs review

Solar Energy Labs gets the Average Performer badge and works in 1 state, but their third-party ratings don't go above 4. Local community trust isn't their strong suit either - their score is 3.9 in our evaluation. This badge means they are somehow reliable, but you need to pay more attention to what they have to offer. While Solar Energy Labs may not lead the pack, they are certainly recognized for their capacity to meet a broad range of solar installation needs with commendable customer satisfaction. When considering this solar installer, you can add Solar Energy Labs to your list as a lower priority and one that requires additional research before you decide to work with them.

What Do Customers Say About the Solar Energy Labs?

yelp.com

Positive reviews:

“Great installation a few years ago. Saving $100 every month on JEA bill which only goes up. Changed router and new internet user name and password wouldn’t connect panels for data transmission. System worked but no info. Called and Ashley came and fixed in ten minutes. DROVE and hour to my home just to reset system. AWESOME service” – Bill L. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ November 6, 2025

“These guys are great. We actually listened when they told us about the fact that JEA pays 4 cents per kilowatt hour but, we pay 10 cents per kilowatt hour we purchase from JEA. We got the battery which stores the extra electricity produced we are not using at the time so, we are not selling back until our battery reaches 100 percent. We got the hybrid water heater so out garage feels like we installed air conditioning which saves us money on cooling and on heating the water we use. My only regret is that we didn’t get more solar panels. Our 16 panels produce a good share of our electricity needs but, on overcast days our battery does not ever get to 100 percent capacity. These guys performed all the work they promised and came back to move the water heater at no charge (our old water heater was slimmer and did not interfere with our attic ladder but, the new water heater was a little wider and prevented the attic ladder from reaching the ground). I just wish all the companies I worked with paid attention to customer service like these guys do.” – Erik W. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 9, 2020

Negative reviews:

“One of my solar panels needed repair. After a few weeks and several phone calls, a tech showed up to look at the panel. He explained that he would need an additional tech for the job. I waited a month and then called again. I was told that they were very busy, but I would be put on the schedule. I called again the next month, and was told that they were waiting for a part. I was asked to provide serial numbers, etc, which I did. It has been 4 months, and still no call from this company. I can understand if they don’t want to do my repair, just tell me so I can look for someone else. But to just string me along is just not acceptable. I called Sunpath Solar and the tech was here in less than a week and repaired the panel by himself. If you want good service, professional work, don’t call Solar Energy Labs, call Sunpath Solar” – David F. ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 5, 2022

“We decided to go with this company after reading the great reviews. BIGGEST REGRET we have! The set up and installation process was smooth and wonderful, it started off great! Since installation, our bills have TRIPLED and we even purchased the solar water heater. We have only seen a $3 to 4$ credit on our bills. When we called to speak about what our production was and why we weren’t seeing credits or the power production we were told would occur, we were told someone was coming to look at our system. The owner said he would be speaking with the rep to see what was said at our sales meeting, but his wife was sick so it would be a few days (it has been MONTHS). We have called multiple times and sent emails-and over 7 months later we still have not had anyone from the company come out. In fact, we have been given excuse after excuse as to why it was taking so long to get back to us. Last week we set up an appointment once again when our sales rep— only to have another No Call No show. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. The owner and his wife are sweet, but at this point, sweetness isn’t helping pay for panels that aren’t producing what we were promised. (I will say that it wasn’t the owner or his wife that pitched us, perhaps that is the problem). A conversation and explantation would have gone a long way, but at this point, we might have to start looking to have that conversation elsewhere. I am writing this review because we have given a fair amount of time for the business to do what’s right, or at least show up to explain what is happening. I do not want anyone else to have to be paying for panels that are just “looking pretty”.” – Jennifer H. ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 24, 2019
