What Do Customers Say About the Solar Grids?

energysage.com

Positive reviews:

“I worked with Renee at Solar Grids in preparing to put in a solar system at our house. She is a true professional and she knows the product and industry thoroughly. There was not a question I had that she or her team did not answer to my complete satisfaction. On top of that she is very kind and understanding. We were ready to go ahead and have Solar Grids do the installation, but we had to put the project on hold because, due to unforeseen circumstances, we need to move. Though Renee had invested a lot of time with us, she was completely understanding of our situation. Needless to say, we plan on engaging with Solar Grids in our new location. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in solar energy for their home.” – billoosingh15 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ July 7, 2023

“Mrs. McFadden did an amazing job explaining all the products that the company has to offer. The price was comparable to other quotes received, and she made me feel so comfortable with the process. There was no pressure or trying to push me to make any decisions right away. She has the most amazing customer service. She gave a complete work up of what she recommended to be best for my home, and I would gladly recommend her to all of my family and friends.” – taylorkait83 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 22, 2022

Negative reviews:

“Not a pleasant experience with Solar Grids Central NC, DO your research, go with a larger company that has their ‘stuff’ together. We were told this installation could take between 3-6 months, after 3 months we were still running around in circles being told the power company and county were behind in getting things going on their end. My husband contacted these two organizations directly and this was NOT the case. Having corporate in another state is a red flag as far as I am concerned. Left a message with corporate to phone us, they never responded. Corporate were to have sent off monies to the power company, THAT never arrived. All I can say is we were upset but so pleased we went with NC Solar Now. They have kept us informed, we are already ahead in getting solar placed on the house, there are contact numbers to each person handling each part of the solar instillation. Great company that go above and beyond. Arrive on time and EXTREMELY professional. What they say goes and happens. Have been in business 13 years and rated 4.9 out of 5 on Facebook. Good enough for us.” – sabrinamckeithan ⭐⭐☆☆☆ July 30, 2023

“I’m glad other folks had a good experience with Solar Grids Central NC, but I absolutely did not. It took four and a half months from the time we signed the contract and paid (in full, up front) before our install which took almost two weeks because they (both Solar Grids Central NC and the electrician they employed) had no idea what they were doing apparently, they failed to explain what a Buy All Sell All was to me in advance (which would have caused me to halt the process entirely) nor offer to instead install as a zero export system (a much smarter financial investment than a Buy All Sell All), our initial estimate for our power bill after the install was $0 (we installed a big enough system to completely offset our usage) which was inaccurate even if we weren’t in a Buy All Sell All because it did not account for flat fees at all, they failed to, at any point in the time between contract signing and install, notice that the spec of the system did not hook the batteries up to anything other than the grid meaning they were a completely useless addition, and then acted like they were doing me a favor by installing the hardware so they would be hooked up to something when a real company would have caught that issue before installation and corrected it. To round it off, it took almost four months to get that extra hardware installed so that the batteries can finally do something of use. All through this their communication was poor, there was infighting and back biting between the owners over who messed up where, and I was drug into the middle of it multiple times. It was, to drive the point home, an awful experience from end to end that left me with a solar system that will literally not pay itself off in my life time as installed. I am currently speaking with another company to come convert the system to a zero export system because even with the extra expense it at least makes the system a value add if we ever sell our home. Do not, under any circumstances, give these people your money. I won’t be shocked if they’re not around in a year or two.” – durand.ryan ⭐☆☆☆☆ August 9, 2023
