What Do Customers Say About the Solar Tech Elec LLC?

energysage.com

Positive reviews:

“They installed my 8.64 KW system and it’s running perfect. I produced surplus clean energy last month. Ross and crew have been great to work with. I highly recommend them.” – bragetjeff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 2, 2022

“Wow, what can I say. Before talking to Ross I had a few bids on EnergySage that I thought were really good. It was coming up on the end of the year and I knew it was somewhat of a time crunch to get everything finished, this was before the Gov extended the federal tax rebate. He blew away the competition. He installed top of the line LG 340w all-black panels, for the price of his competitors offering chinese panels. I expected when his crew showed up to be less than desirable workers because of the deal I got. Chris and his installation crew were professionals. Answered all of my nerd questions with a high level of tolerance and confidence. I had a good feeling about their knowledge level and competence. It took the county quite a while to close out the inspection and the electric company to approve net metering due to covid. I couldn’t be happier, my last electric bill was $0. I love that SolarTechElec monitors wattage output and will replace panels that aren’t providing appropriate power.” – craig21977 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ April 7, 2021

Negative reviews:

“Been dealing with this company for over a year and a half to have our complete system installed and still havent had our battery installed. While part of that can be blamed on the company that they ordered from, the complete lack of being forthcoming with information is completely unprofessional from Solar Tech. It was my mistake to trust Ross when he asked me to release the funds for the battery even though it had not been installed. There is a reason that finance companies ask you not to release funds unless all of the work has been completed. Will never make that mistake again. Your service with them will probably be much better if you are within the area of their office. I have been repeatedly told that I have to wait until their team is in my area for another install in order to complete a service call. After months of complaining about the amount of my electric bill, they installed CT clamps back in April to see the amount of energy being used, produced, imported and exported. They stopped working the day after they were installed and it took 8 months of constant badgering to get them to come out and fix it. My request kept being pushed back saying that they will do it when they install my battery instead of just fixing it. Literally the only good thing about this company are the actual installers. Every crew that has come has been amazing. If only the management was as well. One final note. They offer their customers a gift card if they go to various websites and leave 5 star reviews so another thing to keep in mind while reading them. TLDR: Skip them and go with someone else. You will be glad you did.” – quailstick ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 7, 2021

“I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from SolarTech Elec and Ross Dyson. It took nearly a year to install my solar panels, and I was even charged for several months before they were operational. While the installation itself looked fine, the issues I’ve experienced with the panels not working properly have been ongoing. The response to address these problems has been horrendous. I invested $52,000 in these solar panels and expected better customer service and support. Unfortunately, this was not the case with Ross Dyson. He talks a good game but fails to follow through on his promises. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited over a year before posting this complaint, hoping things would improve, but they have not. While it’s a difficult thing to do considering he can be retaliatory and not fulfill his warranty obligations, I strongly feel that honesty is the best policy! SolarTech Elec is supposed to provide reliable service for such a costly investment, but I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. You can’t invest this kind of money and then be left with unresolved issues and unacceptable delays in service. Once Ross received his payment, he became nearly impossible to reach. To make matters worse, I also had Ross install solar panels on two other family members’ homes, and now I regret recommending his company. I currently have a panel that has been out of service for over three months. I emailed about this issue, followed up with a text over a week ago, and 2 months later still haven’t received any response or indication of when the panel will be repaired. This level of service is unacceptable, and I urge anyone considering SolarTech Elec to reconsider. After posting my disapproval, now I received text threatening to contact the Miami Building Department and voiding my warranty. Not sure how unethical that may be, but that’s a testament to his character.” – rick.acme ⭐☆☆☆☆ December 19, 2024

Positive reviews:

“SolarTechElec provided a reasonable quote for the solar panels, a Franklin 13.6 kW whole-home battery, installation, and all of the administrative things such as permits, engineering plans, etc. The installation crew were professional and courteous. They went above and beyond to keep us apprised of progress and kept the work area clean and tidy; there’s more packaging and waste than I realized, but they kept the yard and driveway clean. We already owned a 13.6 kW Franklin whole-home battery. The crew incorporated our battery with the 29 Solaria Corporation PowerX-400R panels, with each panel including Enphase Energy Inc. inverters and the additional 13.6 kW battery. We have peace of mind, knowing that if the power goes out, we will still have electricity. Hurricane season doesn’t make us as nervous now that our solar array and batteries are at the ready.” – S Worthington ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ October 19, 2025

“We recently purchased our first home with solar panels and suffered damages during the hurricanes. The Solar Tech team’s maintenance package has been awesome in getting us set up with monitoring, warranty and special pricing to replace broken/missing pieces from the original install. Highly recommend this service to anyone with solar panels!” – Sean ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ December 5, 2024

Positive reviews:

“We highly recommend Solar Tech Elec if you are thinking about getting Solar panels on your roof.We NEVER thought we would put solar panels on our roof because of our concerns of hurricanes, wind, and long term damage to our roof. We did a lot of research considering leasing and buying, and buying was much better than leasing. We confirmed through ChatGPT that Solar Tech Elec was the #1 solar company in the area. Dan and Ross did an amazing job listening to our concerns and needs, answered our concerns to our satisfaction and told us what they would do for us to meet our needs. Their installation team of David, Christian, and Austin were professional, on time, and had great communication skills keeping us informed throughout the day.The entire SolarTechElec team treated us like family, not like a customer.Give them a call for a free estimate, you will not regret going with them!” – Kelly C. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 12, 2026

“Exceptional Service and Quality from SolarTech Elec and Ross Dyson.I am beyond pleased with the outstanding service I received from SolarTech Elec and Ross Dyson. My solar panels were installed efficiently and professionally, and I was impressed by the team’s dedication to ensuring everything was done right.” – Riquelme R. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ February 5, 2025

Negative reviews:

“I am waiting for a new inverter for my system. It is covered by the warranty but the company has not been responding to my inquiries. Very frustrating!” – Joanne F. ⭐☆☆☆☆ June 23, 2024

“Read this carefully. Doing business with Dyson and Solar Tech could be one of the biggest mistakes of your life. The list of things that are wrong with this company would fill a book. Dyson got the contract for the first Solar Co-Op and we were part of the group. We bought a 15kw system. It didn’t work. After more than a month, it turned out the installers didn’t turn the thing on. When it was on, it produced little ekectricuty. Other members of the Co-Op had similar problems. Several large lawsuits resulted. We all needed other contractors to clean up the messes. Our system was installed and removed at least three times. Our roof was destroyed and several rooms flooded. (We had actual indoor waterfalls.) It defies belief that Dyson and Solar Tech are still in business.By the way, Dyson pays for good reviews.” – Jim S. ⭐☆☆☆☆ October 16, 2025

Positive reviews:

“I researched, and spoked with at least 6 different Solar companies before moving forward with Solar Tech Elec. Solar tech elec had the best pricing by far. What really sold me was that Ross (The Owner) personally came out to answer my questions and discuss concerns before signing anything. They installed a 30kW system with two batteries, and the entire process was smooth and professional. The install was fast, clean, and well done. Highly recommend them if you’re considering solar.” – J Shields ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 2026

“I had an excellent experience with Solar Tech from start to finish. The entire process was smooth, professional, and well organized. The team was knowledgeable, transparent, and always willing to answer my questions.A special thank you to the Daniel who worked on this project with me β€”he was punctual, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable . He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure the work was done perfectly. It’s rare to find someone who takes such pride in their work.I highly recommend this company to anyone considering solar. Great service, great people, and outstanding results!” – T K ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ January 2026

Negative reviews:

“Probably the worst company I’ve dealt with in a long time. The owner Ross is a scam artist and Celeste is extremely unprofessional. I promise you he paid for 90% of these fake positive reviews. They removed my panels on 11/3. My roofers notified them the job was done on 11/11 for them to come back and reinstall. It’s now been 3 weeks and they are completely unresponsive after they missed their own deadline TWICE saying they are ‘backed up’. Now, they are ignoring all attempts at communication. AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!Update: After 1.5 months, my panels were re-installed. Only after reporting to Florida consumer protection and threatening legal action did Ross (owner) take me seriously. The entire communication process was a nightmare. Ross broke his own promises (regarding dates it would get done) multiple times until finally finishing the job when he was threatened with legal action. The crew is great, all the issues stem from ownership and their inability to take responsibility for their own missteps. In full transparency they took $300 off the bill because I told them they were costing me money (solar loan). About the only thing they handled correctly.” – R.K. ⭐☆☆☆☆ January 2026
